System Wars Lounge v27-- The Good Luck Edition!

Yeah this is going to be my last week on system wars (well really on the Internet outside of Cyber Monday) as well (for a while at least). Life is about to get really busy between taking 2 and a half weeks of leave, settling in to the barracks in Alaska and getting used to life there.

Finished Half-Life 2 again @10 hours. Still arguably the best story-driven FPS to date (though Bioshock is a bit of a contender I think). The puzzles, the atmosphere, the gameplay, the characters and even the bits and pieces of music you get are some of the best to experience in a game. The ending always gets me wondering as to what the GMan could possibly be talking about in regards to bidders and chills me. Taking down Striders is immensely satisfying and the little headcrabs are cute as well. I'll admit I wasn't fond of the whole boat chapter but the rest of the game is strong enough to carry it through regardless.

So I am playing through "The Scourge Project: Episode 1 & 2", and this review sums it up perfectly.

This is pretty much a low-budget version of Gears of War, but enjoyable enough for what it is. Only buy if you can play in coop mode with real human beings, though, because the AI of your squad mates is just dreadful.Gamer_no

Been playing through too many serious games lately so I decided to go with something a bit random. Psychonauts is a nice change of pace. It's no Super Mario but it's satisfying at least.

I played a little bit of it a long time ago. What I played of it was meh.

That reminds me that that I somehow broke my PC controller, and need to get a new one. There're a few games in my backlog that'll benefit from one.
