I have a few friends who get hammered at grad parties and stuff. I'm just not interested in that. If I'm going to drink, I want to enjoy it for the flavor and taste and texture, not for the stupid crap I would do or the hangover the next day.

Good mentality. Getting hammeredf, for getting hammered's sake, is rather lame.
[QUOTE="Ly_the_Fairy"]
Lately I've been enjoying beer for the same reason.
I don't think I've bought myself a drink in months which is just awesome because I drink a lot when I go out :P
lundy86_4
I am jealous. Usually i'm buying the booze, though i've taken to not hitting on as many girls when I go out:o Kind of enjoying the single downtime :P
You really don't realize how much time you have being single until you've been in a relationship and then aren't.

I think so as well. It just seems like a waste of time to me.

Been single for two years. Its been a mixed bag.Oh I agree. I would rather not be single (she broke up with me). But the extra time you have is quite astounding.

Don't get me wrong... Getting drunk for getting drunk's sake, can be fun... On occasion. But largely I think one should enjoy what they drink.
My stomach does not handle vomitting well (not that anyone's does but mine is really bad) so I'd rather avoid it if I can. Plus I just think about all the things I could do rather than sit and feel terrible.

Good outlook. My stomach/liver doesn't handle it all too well, but I rarely get too drunk to be stupid. My liver is failing, so I figure that I should enjoy things whilst I can (until I get a transplant).
Ugh, I'm tired. I might go to bed way earlier than normal.
But I'm thinking another horror movie is in order given how eerie my house feels tonight. Outside my window is a very creepy tire swing, and there's a broken wind chime making the oddest array of noises.

Had the same treatment from my ex.[QUOTE="M13L13S"]

Is that why you were in the hospital?

Not for the drinking, but for the illness. My immune system eats away at my liver, destroying the bile ducts, and eventually causing it to fail. I will need multiple transplants in my lifetime.
Drinking is allowed, by my specialist (one of the best gastroenterologists in the world).

Ah. Have you had any yet? What are the wait times like for liver transplants?
You can say that again.[QUOTE="clyde46"][QUOTE="M13L13S"]

Agreed. The best solution is to hang with friends.
I forced my breakup in my last serious relationship, so it was expected :P
I did not. One day, I became "boring and slightly annoying." That lasted for a week and then boom. Single.
I'm probably late to the party, but I just got Amnesia: Dark Descent off the Steam sale for $5 and it's worth it. Man I can't stop playing that game!

why? Because its an awful, awful movie that I had fond memories of because of nostalgia. Now that I've seen it again *shudder*[QUOTE="charizard1605"]I should not have watchd The Pokemon Movie again...Jonwh18

That was what I got. Girls can be cruel sometimes.I did not. One day, I became "boring and slightly annoying." That lasted for a week and then boom. Single.

Honestly, as much as it sucks, it could be the best thing for you... The girl you want, is the girl who puts up with the little things, because what you offer is something better.
Ah. Have you had any yet? What are the wait times like for liver transplants?
M13L13S
When I was first diagnosed, my specialist though I would need one immediately. I can't quite convey the pain, but I have a very high pain threshhold, and my boss found me crying in the men's toilet at the place I worked. Fortunately, I bounced back, but I hope to never experience the pain again.
That being said, I have yet to have my first, as I have not had any pain in 4+ years... So i'm hoping I can hold out longer... Even though my last hospital visit may set me back.

The "annoying and boring part" was when I was talking to her about things. Yeah I'm sure it will be.
Wow that sounds brutal. I hope things stay positive.
yeah Its why I stopped posting anywhere besides the lounge. Its like hmm I have been here 1 year and stuff is already reptitive. Go into a troll thread... ehh been there done that[QUOTE="Cheleman"]
Man, these threads are so damn repetitive...

An important lesson you will learn... The woman you stay with, will be your best friend... Sounds cliche, but i've found it to be accurate. I've had it before, but I screwed it up, largely due to psychological issues regarding my illness.
Me too. I don't let it get to me, and I live my life the best I can. I have fun, and I think that is incredibly important.
I think you need something to happened in your life to give you a good up the backside. When I lost my dad last year, it gave me a new outlook on life.clyde46
Terribly sorry. I couldn't imagine losing my dad. He was my sole guide through the times of my illness when I thought ending it would relieve the pain.
