I totally know what you mean, I distracted far too often. How many words total is the novel? Right now, I am at 48,901. The target is a 60,000-90,000 range. I'm thinking that I turn in a 60,000 word for class, and then go back, rework it, add another 20,000 words, and then start sending it out.

Think of it this way, if you do the sequel now, then work on finalizing the first one, then, assuming it gets published, your readers won't have to wait too long for the sequel :P I actually found that writing short stories and poetry all semester helped me with being able to do the novel: I just broke the novel down into similar episodic portions, almost self contained, you might say, and always focused on doing those, and never the 'big picture' 60k words/200 pages thing, which can get very daunting. So hey, it might help. Plus hey, creative break and all that jazz lol And yeah, I agree :P The problem is, people are too nice. Like, I understand not wanting to be jerks or anything, but come on, if you find something wrong with the story, just tell me so I can fix it, I won't hate you for it, on the contrary, I'll love you for it...
