System Wars Lounge v5- The Third Game's the Charm Edition!

So every one I need advice what ps1 game should I play? i lean towards jrpgs and the like.
Will be going tomorow to buy some games and I need ideas.

played and beaten to death enjoyed it thoroughly I had a playthrough going a while back but the game messed on me if you dont name your weapons for wayne on the boat you oddly cant load a new game plus...or atleast thats how it worked for me. I'm hoping to get back into it and get the 2nd ending.

@commonfate Beat 7 to death *hated it* 8 beat it, and 9 I need to get around to beating, Tactics beat to death and loved that game it was my last favorite Final fantasy. thanks for the recommendations though.

Okay children sit down Papa Williams gonna tell you a story and a true one at that.
FF7 was the source of my distaste for all things final fantasy and for my dislike of square post FF7.

I purchased ff7 at launch liked it till disc 3 then started disliking it for the plot holes I noticed but I kept going I had loved final fantasy for years played it on the nes and snes, played every snes game I could get my hands on by square so I thought they will redeem themselves....and then I reached the ending watched through the credits then immeadiately broke the 3rd disk and found a quiet place to cry.

[spoiler] Its argurable though I dont believe so that the game leads to one point...the planet chose to kill all humanity hense the ending where theres a flash of light and 500 years later after a 7 minute credits sequences that shows Nanaki running with his children and only animals around. I know this storyline end result has been pretty much nulled by the sequels but they themselves added in more plot holes and were themselves plot holed because of the originals storyline [/spoiler]

I say I beat it to death because I spent many hours playing the game going slowly saving at every turn I mastered the game my first playthrough finding every little nook and cranny and materia combination and breeding chocobo's and such. I did this becasue in past square games I would sometimes rush through just beating the game then going back later and mastering this time I put abut 100 hours in that game atleastfinding and doing every thing I litrally would go around towns hitting the X button along walls lol.
FF7 killed my inner child.

They did. Nothing beats the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasdy was just a rip off In me eyes.

Why do people still try to play down Nintendo's dominance this gen, inevidable dominance next gen, and that Wii-U will be Nintendo's Dreamcast?

...Seriously? People are still believe Nintendo is in the same state as Sega despite being super profitable year after year since the DS launched? While the other two have had nothing but losses and minor gains? Nintendo already had a Dreamcast. It was called Gamecube. Just like the Dreamcast, it was f'ing amazing.

Also, does barely anyone understand Nintendo is a core company? Just as much, if not more than others? We should be calling the smartphone market casual, and handhelds, consoles, and PCs the core market. No matter what games are on either platform, IMO that'show it should be.

Never played a Dragon Quest game, but I thought it was the right price. If it's just a really long game, then I just wont play it to beat it in one shot. After all, every time I play Xenogears I take a break at roughly the same place.

The whole "only complaint I see" thing reminds me of the hate Xenosaga Ep II gets. the only consistent complaint I can see is that it has lengthy, challenging battles that require you to master the break system it features. Oh ... no?

Never played a Dragon Quest game, but I thought it was the right price. If it's just a really long game, then I just wont play it to beat it in one shot. After all, every time I play Xenogears I take a break at roughly the same place.

I Agree, super600 would make a great mod. We usually "rule" this lounge since we talk here the most (I'm not saying we own it, just we're the ones who usually populate it), and spamming the lounge with junk gets in the way of our conversations so that's basically disruptive posting. We don't want disruptive posters in our lounge.

The game just overall passes any and all lines marking the line between challenging and bull****.

But only with this one enemy type. No matter what I do, I just don't think it is possible to go into witch time against them.

Hard mode is hard.

Just the same 3 enemies i've been stuck on for 3 days. I gave up and got some items to heal. Sucks for me since I'm not going to let myself use items on the hardest difficulty.
