Finally playing though Doom Eternal. I purchased it initially on Xbox which was an awful decision, then repurchased it on PC when it was on sale and thankfully embraced KB/M. What a delightful and expertly polished game.

As much as I cannot stand those Cowboys, watching my Falcons losing like that was just fucking LOL. I really thought we had this game won and it looks like the Falcons ain't gonna make it this season. What a damn shame.
Your Falcons come apart after big leads, and that game reminded me of the Super Bowl they lost to the Patriots.
Time for new leadership in Atlanta.
@FireEmblem_Man: Not entirely, but definitely spend a lot more time on the Switch and Xbox when you take into account the multi-media/streaming side of things.
@Macutchi: Recommend Onward as well even though they recently gimped the visuals for Quest.
Nowhere near as good as OG R6/GR games, but it scratches that tactical shooter itch sorely missing.
Has competitive, but pretty much everyone plays it for terrorist hunt.
With Ubisoft announcing a bunch of VR shit, GR/R6 seems like a missed opportunity. Was playing Rogue Spear this year again, fucking amazing game still ignoring it's wonky ass AI.
You can legit finish missions using nothing but the planning phase, start to feel almost like a Commandos style game.
Know stuff like Vegas and Siege has it's fans, but this shit will always be R6 in my eyes. Ubisoft dunking what is pretty much a now dead style of game is nothing short of an atrocity.
@davillain-: The Zephyrus G14 is definitely the best gaming laptop I've ever purchased in terms of value/performance. My desktop is probably 3x the cost yet now I rarely turn it on due to the comfort of having a laptop. Dang it, all those years of teasing Aljosa and ended doing exactly what he did.
@uninspiredcup: just read the polygon review.
Onward is one of the most stressful things I’ve ever done with a computer.
sounds good. only worry is the complexity of reloading, the reviewer implies he's spent most of his time in the game practising reloading the various weapons. assumed it was mp only until he mentioned sp very briefly towards the end, what's the sp like?
@Macutchi: Bro, that's Polygon. You'll have it in about 10 min, 15 tops lol
Not complicated either, though recommend you at least go to the shooting range or fuckabout with bots first before playing with real peeps or just end up pissing them off.
Hit me up if you wanna play some.

Only real issue I've had is picking shit up off the ground, bit finicky. Kinda wish they just pulled an Alyx and magnetized it.
Fascinating read.
Grizzly Man is a great movie, but it does seem far to lenient on Timothy Treadwell and straight up exploitative in making him come across as some sort of gifted animal whisperer. The fox section was especially illuminating.
A final note on the movie Grizzly Man. In the last few minutes of the film, we see Tim walking across the tidal flats with two red fox following close behind. Pretty neat, and I have to admit I too have had similar experiences. Anyone that spends as much time in the field as Tim and I have, will no doubt have had similar experiences.
I remember once out at my bear viewing area sitting alone one day, and feeling a bit sleepy in the warm sun I decided to lay back and close my eyes for a moment, when I remember feeling that something was watching me. I slowly raised up and looked around, only to discover that a family of 6 coyotes had moved in behind me, the adult alpha’s sitting within feet of me while the pups played nearby.
After a few minutes, I decided to get up and walk across the meadow, only to have the whole family follow along beside me.
The only difference between Tim and I is, Tim felt that the fox were kindred spirits, whereas I knew that the coyotes were looking at me as they would any other large carnivore in the wild, and that hopefully I would lead them to food much as a bear or wolf would do. Or maybe, I was the food!
Willy Fulton states; “Tim was a little smarter than most people gave him credit for. He made it out here a long time before they (the bears) got him”.
No Willy. Tim was just lucky and his luck finally ran out.
-
"One other thought came to mind after a short conversation with a Yellowstone biologist who is also interested in this story. It was very interesting, and rather suspicious, that every time Tim reached out to the fox in the movie, the fox would nip at or lick his fingers.
Was Tim feeding the fox? Had he also habituated the fox to him, as well as all humans by feeding them? If so, his concern for people killing fox then placed those very fox he was so desperate to protect in even greater danger the next time they encounter a human and expect to be fed. Not surprising the fox followed his every step. Documented video shot by Tim of him feeding the fox has been uncovered."
@Macutchi: Google Earth is also a pretty rad (free) app in VR, was just fucking about with it yesterday checking out some place (who's name can't remember) below Mount Fuji. Jesus, Japan keeps it's streets immaculately clean.
The UK is kind of a shithole in comparison, not as bad as places like India or Pakistan when it comes to dumping rubbish, but compared to Japan we are definitely dirty bastards.
@ghosts4ever: Okay, I gotta ask this question. Why do you hate Mafia 3 so much? Its the only Mafia game I enjoy the most.
Its not Mafia, its GTA clone. I prefer Mafia if its divided in chapters and not just repetitive fully open world game plus its too buggy and driving is too arcadish.
not a fan of cover based shooting that unfortunately also in Mafia remake.
@jg4xchamp
Champ, Mafia remaking coming in 2 days. lets get hype.
No, I have no interest in playing that remake of a bad video game. I look forward to how you n cup make excuses for playing a shallow, mindless, wack a mole shooter that has delusions of being a movie, while yah bad mouth other games for ...effectively the same shit tho.

lol
@X_CAPCOM_X: I have literally never taken anything he has said seriously
Same, I'm just amazed that over 90% of posters here seem to think he is serious. I'm simultaneously disappointed in them and amazed at the reception of his threads. I admittedly could not pull that off. Bravo

Wait you think 90% of people here take him seriously, are you living in an alternate universe?
We know he's trolling so we (well i troll back) i mean what's your gamertag bro, should be pretty clear, maybe we're too good that you can't see it.
@i_p_daily: This one's for you: Poe's law
Maybe you could learn some things from him.
I think you're the one in need of reading that again lol.

So champ, would you play prince of persia remake?
You guys take this way too seriously, cool down a bit.
Who's taking what seriously again?
@Chutebox: Donno man, looks kind of nice in a run-down sort of way. Same with shit watch like The Wire.
It's always weird seeing America as an outsider, even in the capital city here (Edinburgh) the highest buildings are 4 story if you're lucky. It's normality over the pond to have giant cubes shooting into the sky with hugely dense populations, even in google earth it can be somewhat disorientating.
Not sure like to live in a place like that. While we are dirty bastards who don't appreciate what is in front of them, huge areas have basically no population and thus do not get fucked up, especially north.
Saying that, so does America, obviously. Was checking out Hover Dam as well, love to visit there, IRL Halflife.
Anyone who says the gaming media isn't bias and doesn't favour Sony need to watch this from the 9:15 mark. The whole video is actually pretty funny calling out Sony's cross gen BS lol.
@i_p_daily: As a testing tool, to see if a Youtuber is in fact a ****, if it has overwhelmingly negative videos to the point it's the only selling point, red lettering, OUTRAGE caps, a red circle, SJW bahd, TheQuartering or Jim Sterling in the thumbnail, it's probably a ****.
Having said that it's actually kind of impressive how much TheQuartering can drum from nothing. 3-4 a day on basically "nothing" with 1/3 of the video and 1/4 of the screen space him trying to shill his little bearded hart out for all the scram he can garner.
If being a slimy motherfucker was an art form, he'd be Da Vinci.

Well that's the first video i've seen as its was in my news feed, and he wasn't too critical, just calling out BS, and that Gamesradar one was Sony butt kissing at its finest.
So how do you rate this YouTuber? and to be honest i've seen this guys name before but never as a YouTuber.
Anyone who says the gaming media isn't bias and doesn't favour Sony need to watch this from the 9:15 mark. The whole video is actually pretty funny calling out Sony's cross gen BS lol.
I watch it from start to finish. He does bring bring up good points regarding cross-gen ports and from a PC gamer perspective, cross-gens don't normally hurt holding next-gen back but its also great for those who aren't ready to move on and want to keep their current console as long as there are games coming out for it. Sony on the other hand see what MS is trying to do and they know there's not going to be much demanding to switch over to next-gen but Sony fans really wan that ground-up exclusives though. Sony jump the gun way too soon every exclusive from this point on will be on PS5 but backtracking what Sony says is really shady as hell! You can see Sony is trying to copy MS cause MS already beat them to the punch being all pro consumer friendly.

Except some of us are always looking for facts regarding youtubers. We look for statements if it fits the actually discussion and Jim always brings good points if you can get pass his skits.
@davillain-: Oh? Find 90% of Jim Sterling is "Yea, no shit", with a lot of the stuff just repetitively done. For most people even remotely informed in gaming he's pointing at thing you heard about and saying "see that bad thing, that's bad", very rarely will he actually make a decent effort at an informative video and even then, have to wade through him, and his unfunny skits.
As someone correctly pointed out a few pages back, Sterling tries to act like it's a persona, but really, if actually follow him from the start, that is him, just a toxic loudmouth with hot-takes.
The only reason like his existence and similar ilk is that is probably annoys Publishers, even just a bit, who typically get sucked off by gaming media as a PR extension.
Having said that, can always just use his superior significantly more attractive Asian cousin, YongYea for reddit posts to be read out loud. he at least gets to the point.
@i_p_daily: Looks like a Microsoft fanboy or paid influencer to me, as you state, bias.
Im more excited about MGS1 remake than any other remake (including Mafia) mainly because when I played MGS1 i feel it was dated especially controls but story was fantastic, solid snake was amazing protagonist if better if not for limitation other than whole theme, level design, mechanics were great for its time.
now i feel like if they combine same story about solid snake but on FOX engine, next gen graphics. we are in treat.
this game is only game that take advantage of remake.
@ghosts4ever: My freind, Snake got tricked by his evil clone brother because he combed his hair back and wore shades.
The man needs more training.
@SOedipus: Remember when Snake took his military mommies hand after beating him up, dismantling his gun, almost knocking them both off the bridge, saying hello to the bad guys, the bad guys asking if they should kill him, letting them steal the scientist man, the bad guy saying "welcome to my unit" with her saying out loud "yo i'm defecting to them", along with holding two stolen nuclear missiles.
All deeply confusing stuff.
all i can remember of mafia 1 is far too much driving, a 40 mph speed limit, getting arrested for speeding and that bloody race level early doors. still have my original pc copy knocking about somewhere
edit: £34 on steam 😬 too rich for my blood. wishlisted the f*ck out of it
@uninspiredcup: Blimey! No, I don't.
If you're talking about Phantom Pain (from the pic) I haven't played it. If it's from other games, it's been years. If it's a joke that went over my head, been years. I do remember being confused.
