I thought Microsoft had the best show, and Sony had stuff i really wanted to buy (at least what i really want). Nintendo had a few games that really raised my eyebrow like Golden sun DS, Kingdom Hearts 358/2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Metroid Other M.

I didn't think Nintendo had a great show, but it was a good show. catering to their newly found casual crowd as well as keeping their hardcore base happy. I haven't been on the Nintendo scene since the N64 days.

but to be fair, and this is no bs, i think all three had great showings, catering to their bases pretty strongly. and though Microsoft and Sony are doing the me-too thing with their motion controls, they are pushing them in different directions.

this is a great generation for gamers. and all we can do is sit around and b*tch about which one is better then the other.

Nintendo has Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Metroid Other M, Zelda Twilight Princess, new Zelda game, Punch Out they have a few good third party games like Mad World, Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, Conduit, Cursed Mountain.

PS3 has Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 1 and 2, Killzone 2, Ratchet and Clank, Lost Guardian. they have a few third party exclusives now like Final Fantasy Versus 13, Final Fantasy 14, Agent.

Microsoft has Halo 3, Gears of War 1 and 2, Fable 2, Crackdown 1 and 2, Forza 2 and 3, and solid third party support, as well as exclusives like Splinter Cell : Conviction.

I don't think that can beat out what Sony and Microsoft showed.

As has been said, Other M is being co-developed by Nintendo. But really, SMG2, Other M, and NSMBW are the new Big Three, and that is huge. The other conferences were great too. But in the end I felt that Nintendo gave us sheep the most ammunition, and that is what wins E3 in SW.

Sony's Lightbulb-On-A-Stick just looked downright pathetic, not only compared to the Wiimote but compared to MS' Project Natal.

Funny you mention that because on the lastest edition of IGN's Nintendo Voice chat the whole Nintendo team agrees that Sony's motion control is superior to the Wiimote and motion +. :shock:

One of their biggest complaints about the motion plus with Wii Sports Resort was the fact that you had to keep recalibrating it while you were playing because it wouldn't know where the remote was :?

Thread titles really don't mean much anyway, as most threads are made by the same few people. But there you go. Now, were we one-sided this issue? I don't think we were any more than usual. We're all biased and we're not going to hide it, it is SW after all. We'd like some cow and lemming and hermit contributors, but until someone steps up, it'll be hard to avoid a bit of one-sidedness.

Don't forget that the Eyetoy was a huge and popular item back in it's day, but it was powered by 99% 1st party software, the only add ons from 3rd paries were games like DDR, Sports games where you could be the player, Harry Potter, etc. Those games all played fine without the Eyetoy though. Natal will probably get the same support, as the PSWand will as well

The only way to make these thrive is to launch a console with it in the beginiing, like Nintendo did this generation.

The same thing with the Playstation Eye this gen. What will determine if MS is successful is if they can get major developers and publishers to get AAA games onto Natal that they are must haves and really makes you want to play it with the Natal controls and not prefer the controller. Breakout type games and paint games can't be the only supportive software for Natal or it will fail the same way the PS2 eyetoy did.

Marketing aside, they will never sell more NATAL's than there are 360's, which creates the DIVIDE that publishers don't ignore. Also, You ever heare of EYE of JUDGEMENT, it's not a minigame at all, just wanted to point that out...doesn't change my point, but you throughtout minigames, and that's not the entirely the case. IF they can get Devs and Pubs to get AAA games like Burnout on Natal, won't matter, since Burnout plays and handles better with a controller. Assuming that it was actually the same, the vast majority of users aren't going to go buy Natal since they can play Burnout with their controller.

Remember too, the PS2 Eyetoy did have a TON of Marketing and ads on TV, I do believe M$ saw that and will go even futher, but Eyetoy was a success, in initial sales. I'm sure Natal will do well at first too, that's not the problem, the problem comes down to content.The Problem comes down to Pubs ignoring that tech to sell to an much larger 360 install base, that will Always be the problem. We can see Natal on every TV up till launch, but that won't change the fundamental flaw of launching an addon to a console midcycle. It will suffer the same fates as every other add on, we can only hope that some sweet EXCLUSIVE software comes out during that time, but it's unlikely. I think we will see ports of games like Burnout, and the minigames they showed us.

You mentioned that getting the users MUST HAVES, that's the challenge is it? I hope they can do it, but I don't see it happening. I see NATAL 2.0 in two years POSSIBLY doing that, but not M$ first attempt.

Marketing aside, they will never sell more NATAL's than there are 360's, which creates the DIVIDE that publishers don't ignore. Also, You ever heare of EYE of JUDGEMENT, it's not a minigame at all, just wanted to point that out...doesn't change my point, but you throughtout minigames, and that's not the entirely the case. IF they can get Devs and Pubs to get AAA games like Burnout on Natal, won't matter, since Burnout plays and handles better with a controller. Assuming that it was actually the same, the vast majority of users aren't going to go buy Natal since they can play Burnout with their controller.

Great issue it made my day. However I wouldn't say cows are the majority around here as much as they are making more noise and there is lots to say with the amazing comeback Spny is making. I do agree that nintendo won e3 because of SMG 2 and I really don't know how that was overlooked.
