First and foremost, these are not rules. You won't get moderated for disagreeing or continuing to use them. Most are fact. Some are opinion but not unreasonable.
* "good" usually considered AA or above here
** "game" will refer to "exclusive game" unless specifically mentioned as multiplatform. i don't want to have to type it out each time.
1. the PC doesn't count (aka "Console Exclusive") - omg, people (mostly lemmings). this is system wars...not console wars. it doesn't matter if the pc isn't a console. it's a gaming platform and it counts just as much as any other platform. if a game can legally be played on more than one platform, it's not exclusive. there is no way around this. stop trying to find one. it doesn't matter if you're a console only gamer...your game is still not exclusive just because you don't use a pc for gaming.
2. a higher review score for a multiplatform game automatically means that version is the best. -while this is true much of the time, it's not universal. you guys have to read the actual text of the review. many times they flat out say that a version is better even if it scores lower. standards between systems can be different or a game's score can just plain drop over time simply because it ages.
3.you can tell how good a game will be from screenshots or videos. -wrong. until you have the controller in your hand and are playing the game, you have absolutely no idea how good the game will turn out. system wars has a long history of flopped games because people can't seem to figure this out. stop hyping games based on how they look.
4. a new gaming pc will break your bank and you still have to spend hundreds of dollars on upgrades each year just to be able to play the newest games. -no. this is just something non-pc gamers say to demonstrate that they don't really know what they're talking about. very few games are released each year that require a state of the art pc to run. mid range computers can play the majority of pc games just fine and can last years without the need for an upgrade.
5. a game remake is automatically exclusive - no. unless the game is radically different, it's just a different version with some exclusive content. for a timely example, want to argue that the extra content makes it a new exclusive game, (cows, i'm looking at you) why are you starting this now with ng:sigma? what's so different about this one game that makes it exclusive when every single other remake or port with extra features has not been considered exclusive in the past? why was it said that the xbox lost ninja gaiden as an exclusive when sigma was announced if the game is different?
6. resistance is AAA almost everywhere but gamespot. -no. you're wrong. step down and be quiet. -_-
it has an 87% at gamerankings...the site cows love to use when saying that gamespot is biased. while it's true that there are a few more sources that gave the game a AAA score than there are sources that gave it lower, the average still works out to being an 87%. this is not AAA.
7. perfect dark zero was only AAA at gamespot. -no. you're wrong. step down and be quiet. -_-
ten other sources rated it equally or higher than gamespot. it has an 81% average at gamerankings which is .9 lower than the gamespot score. is that difference, less than one point, really enough to make you lose your mind and use the chewbacca defense to say that gamespot is biased/being paid by microsoft? gamespot has probably flopped more hyped xbox/xbox 360 games than it has hyped gc/wii/ps2/ps3 games combined. -_-
8. nintendo systems are kiddy -no. games for everybody doesn't equal games for kids. just because ninendo consoles tend to have fewer T or M rated games than the competition doesn't mean they're kiddy. they've been home to some of the most violent games ever made. you could call nintendo systems more "kid friendly" than the others but that's about as far as you can go.
9. Resistance is the PS3's only good* game**. -no. it has ridge racer 7 (8.0) and motorstorm (7.9). don't want to count those? ridge racer is AA like saint's row, dead rising, and lost planet which were considered good here. motorstorm doesn't count cause it's only A? how about crackdown? it scored 7.8 and was considered good.
10. The Wii doesn't have any good games. -no. super paper mario (8.8 )and it =/= a minigame. warioware (9.1) super monkeyball: banana blitz (8.3) don't want to count those? see above.
11. Gamespot was the only review source to give Zelda:TP below a 9.0 -no. they are one of eight and an 8.8 is also not the lowest score the game received.much like the previous, similar points involving resistance and pdz made here are in no way judging the quality of the game. a fact is being stated.
12. The PS3 would have more AA games if Gamespot wasn't biased. -no. even if you go to gamerankings, you'd still only have two. gamespot gives you resistance and ridge racer 7 while gamerankings gives you resistance and motorstorm.
13. It took a year for the 360 to get its first good game. -no. statistically, the 360's launch games were better than both the Wii's and PS3's current lineup. the 360 launched with one AAA and three AAs. the PS3 currently has two AAs. The Wii currently has one AAA and two AAs. Even if you toss out PDZ (if you want to change the rules), GRAW came out before gears of war so there's still a AAA right there...before the one year mark. want to say that the 360's AAs are junk? Take a look at how that would leave the PS3's and Wii's lineup.
14. The PC is also a MS platform. Hermits and lemmings are brothers. -no, lemmings. hermits are not your brothers. the PC is not a microsoft platform. the xbox is a microsoft platform. microsoft gets nothing from a pc game unless they publish the game. windows is a software program. it's one of many components that make a pc work. microsoft does not make pcs. you will be looked at funny if you act like the 360 losing an exclusive to the pc is not a bad thing. if a 360 game is available on the pc, it's one more incentive not to buy a 360.
15. A sequel to AAA franchises/sequel made by AAA developersis guaranteed to be AAA. -no and wow. -_- why haven't you guys learned from the past? how many examples are needed? zelda:TP was guaranteed to be AAA. didn't happen. jade empire was guaranteed to be AAA. didn't happen. mgs3? nope. doom 3? sorry.
now, why is halo 3, mgs4, killzone 2, metroid prime 3, mass effect, etc. being hyped as a guaranteed AAA (goty even)? are ninja gaiden 2 and gears of war 2 going to be hyped AAA as well? most likely. could they be AAA? of course. do they have a better chance at it thanother games? maybe. will they be? NOBODY knows.
16. The only good PC games are FPS, RTS, and MMORPGs. -no. it's also very at home with single player rpgs, racers, sports games, sims, adventure games, and action games. those three in bold are its primary and perhaps best genres but by absolutely no means are they its only good ones. the only area where the pc really falls short are fighting games and platformers.
17. The 360 is a "shooter console" -no. looking at its current AAA/AA exclusive list (pdz, forza 2, graw, dead rising, pgr3, doa4, saint's row, kameo), only two out of eight are shooters. what are some ofthe 360's most anticipated exclusive games? halo 3 -shooter, mass effect -rpg, pgr4 -racer, blue dragon -rpg, lost odyssey -rpg, did i miss any? now, present and future, does this really look like a "shooter console"?
18. Most of the 360's good games have lost their exclusivity to the PC. -no. gears of war, viva pinata, and lost planet. (any others?) look at the exclusive list in #17 and compare it to this one. does that look like most to you? it lost its highest scoring exclusive and two lower end AAEs. That's it.
19. Japan doesn't buy American products. -no. look at the ipod. an old article but the argument has been around long before it was written. http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/344/C5263/an american product outselling its japanese competitor?(note: do not turn this into a discussion about racism or nationalism, no WW2 references. -_-)

20. The PS3 has doomed Sony.-no. sony's last two systems were wildly succesful. they're not a stupid company. did they make some mistakes this generation? absolutely. will they take first place again this generation? probably not. will they take second place? probably. is second place really so bad? no. the price will drop, more games will come out, more people will buy it. the world keeps spinning. the ps3 will not go the way of the dreamcast.
21. Nintendo is ruining gaming -no. the only place it's ruining gaming is system wars. the last generation had the sales leader also being the clear games leader. this isn't the case for this generation. the 360 will soon be overtaken in the sales department by the wii even though it's lacking in games...here. things aren't as popular as they are for as long as they are for no reason. although nintendo's approach to gaming doesn't mesh well with the traditional system wars historical view on gaming, outside of system wars its approach is very appealing. people obviously want the kinds of games and gameplay that nintendo is offering. if you personally don't like it, you're rapidly approaching a minority spot amongst gamers. nintendo has never been known to conform.want to say that the wii mainly appeals to casuals? where would this industry be without casuals? it would most likely be worse off.still want to say that nintendo is ruining gaming? what's so bad about changing the way games are played? it's not all minigames.what do you see your console of choice doing in the future? is it going to "sell out", as you'd probably put it, to appeal to the casuals and leave you behind? if the companies that you support would do that to you, then gaming for you is already ruined...you just don't know it yet.

22. Every game with shooting in it is a shooter.-no. a shooter'sprimary focus is shooting.there are plenty of games with shooting elements that aren't shooters. the metal gear series is primarilya stealthgame. sometimes you are required to do some shooting but that doesn't make it a shooter. the deus ex games look very much like first person shooters but you can almostplay through them without ever firing a weapon. it's a first person rpg. gta and it's "clones" are not shooters. it's an action game with shooting elements. most of the time you're driving around. mass effect is not a shooter. it's a third personrpg with some of the characters using guns. same with kotor. halo, call of duty, resistance, killzone, doom, gears of war, unreal tournament...these are shooters.
23. Microsoft owns CNET -no. don't be silly. :)
24. Skittles is not the best candy. -no. you're wrong. it is.
Thank you for reading and good day to you. /bow
