P.S. Who's the chick in your sig? Looks familiar.
molly ringwald - breakfast club, sixteen candles and pretty in pinkThat speech alone somehow made the absolutely horrible, shit ending that MGS2 had bearable. Of course, the post-credits scene kind of shit itself again.[QUOTE="Blabadon"][QUOTE="Jag85"]

Wow, reminds me of 2002 all over again... Back in those days, gaming forums were packed with fanboys b****ing about MGS2 and Raiden over the dumbest reasons... Ah, the good old days.
Hahah I remember those days! MGS2 was awesome tho [QUOTE="Jag85"]

Hahah I remember those days! MGS2 was awesome tho :cool:ÂMGS2 played a big role in creating a lot of hype for the PS2 early on. I still remember how that MGS2 demo shown at E3 2000, demonstrating the graphics and the physics, was what convinced millions of gamers to buy the PS2 (which unfortunately meant the death of the Dreamcast). In other words, it was the PS2's first killer app.
But unfortunately, MGS2 was a victim of its own hype, being promoted as something it was not. It was pretty much an art game (before the "art game" genre even existed) masquerading as a military action game. It was very ahead of its time.

I have no problem with Raiden (I actually thought he was pretty cool at some parts), nor that much issue with the gameplay since it did what I wanted MGS1 to do when I first played it, but didn't. I just have a problem with the massive shitstorm that was the story. It was dumb, convoluted, and ultimately made me feel bad for Raiden in the end the way it screws him over.[QUOTE="Jag85"][QUOTE="Blabadon"] That speech alone somehow made the absolutely horrible, shit ending that MGS2 had bearable. The way Raiden (and by extension the player) was being used like a tool really made a lot of players feel very uncomfortable. But that was pretty much the point of the game, driving home the point Kojima was trying to make. And I wouldn't have it any other way. MGS2 is pretty much the quintessential "love it or hate it" game. Either you'll love the game because of how unique it is, or hate it with a passion for that very same reason, with hardly anything in between. That's just the way it was meant to be.

[QUOTE="Novotine"]ps2's kind of a no brainer charizard1605It certainly wiped the floor with everything else in the prelims. i think the snes is closer than ppl give it credit for. the ps2 was a great great console though. i miss how companies actually cared about gamers back in those days
Old School - Intellivision - to compete directly with the juggernaut known as Atari , while producing original and fun games and being innovative speaks volumes for the job done. It's a shame they were killed by the industry crash.
Now - Super NES hard to compete with a library that still influences games in this gen....
