@lostrib: yea but you can get the game at launch instead of waiting for a special sale. I guess it depends if your willing to wait for the sale or just buy a memebrrship and pick up a game whenever you want.
I am talking about at launch.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
@lostrib: oh pc. Yea I don't get many games on pc I know they offer 20% off codes a lot. The last game I bought was wildstar and I had coupon for preorder. I started gaming on PC in early 90s and for whatever reason as I got older just don't feel like it as much anymore like I used to.
@lostrib: oh how?
GMG for the most part. There's some other options out there as well
I recently got Shadow of Mordor for PC on release day for $27.50.
Civ: Beyond Earth for $37.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel for $33.
Watch Dogs for $6.
Alien: Isolation $28.
I buy a lot of region-free games in other currencies depending on where the best deals are. Or, sometimes I will trade for Steam games with TF2 keys on Reddit's /r/steamgameswap.

where did you get watch dogs for 6 on release?
@mikhail: yea I got watchdogs code with my 770. I should of sold it cause I will never download it or play it anyways.
So does that mean I can buy 2 $20 games and get 1 $60 one for free?!
no they charge you for the two most expensive ones. you get the cheapest one free.
Oh...That's bullcrap then...Oh well. A free game is a free game.
Can you mix n match like 2 X1 games and a free WiiU game??
Or I might try and get Halo MCC, the 360 version of WWE 2k15 and Sunset Overdrive then on the 18th take my copy of WWE 2k15 for 360 and play dumb and try n swap it for the X1 version lol
Yeah, you should be able to mix and match.
Not sure about the other idea though.
I see Skylanders in that picture, but NOT on Target's own website.... can anyone confirm the buy 2 get one on Skylanders figures? My kids have just about every single skylander to this point, and are very excited about trap skylanders for Christmas. This would be an amazing deal for the wife and I.... lol
The $0.30 question. Do I play destiny that I just got with this deal, or swap it for Asscreed when it launches?
The deal here in Canada started yesterday until 13th.
I just got back from target. I called like 5 stores and cod is was sold out but I managed to find one store that had one copy left. So I got COD and I also got driveclub (I know its not that great but whatever) and The evil within for free.
Man everything was pretty much sold out, I wanted lords of fallen or shadow of mordor but they were gone.
Good luck to my American friends tormmrow. Get out there early.
Ps. This was for ps4 . X1 had copies of every game. Just saying.

You can do that? I got 3 games from this deal tonight. Are you saying I can bring one back Tuesday for unity?
So does that mean I can buy 2 $20 games and get 1 $60 one for free?!
Yes. Just make sure you tell the cashier the order you want to purchase them in. (Like first scan the two 20 dollar games and the 60 one last)
That is what I plan to do.

Really? the flyer says the cheaper game will be free. I dunno

No, I think it is all games regardless of platform or price. If that wasn't true, then the flyer would be false advertising. Looking at it below, the games shown in the flyer are all big releases that are 60 bucks price. So I assume you can obtain those for free if you pay for the cheaper games first.

Sounds like to tiff competition. I'm going to have to try and get there earlier in the week. I'm actually glad to hear, in your experience, that Xbox one had copies of every game. I say that because I plan to obtain all three games for the Xbox One unless I see a PS4 that I want or is set at a low price.
Just talking about next week is making me excited. Hope you have fun with your games. =)

Sorry to say, your assumption would be wrong.
This Must be your first Target B2G1F.
Target have been doing this B2G1F for years and sold games through this deal for millions of customers. You aren't the first or the last that will try this (buy two cheap games, get an expensive game free!!) and it won't work. They will say sorry they can't help you and you'll buy or not. The fine print was written by a team of lawyers and Target marketing is planned out for just such an occasion and very specific. They've mastered this. It won't work the way you plan. The cheapest is free. It won't matter the order you buy them, the computer will automatically just make the cheapest one free.
For the record, I wish it did work like that though (Buy 2 $1 games, get a $60 game free). Who wouldn't, right? I'm just posting to save others and perhaps yourself some hassle, time, and aggravation.

That plan won't work. It doesn't work as thousands have tried that in previous years to no avail. The computer doesn't care what order the games are bought, it automatically makes the cheapest free.
Target has done this Buy 2 Get 1 Free for a few years now.
Last year I got Wii U and PS4 games free. Xbone wasn't out yet or I would have taken advantage of Xbone launch titles as well. Unfortunately, Xbone released a week after Target's deal was done last year. This will be Target's first year for Xbone deals.
Can't you just enjoy the deal as it is? It works out to $40 a game for new typically $60 games. :)

EDIT: This is the same user, apologies. Across different forums I keep correcting and seeing new Target buyers keep thinking they have come across the deal of a century at Target and don't seem to realize this scam (BUY two $5 games and get a $60 game free!!!) won't work. The computer does the work for Target so even if the employee wanted too, the computer won't let them. There is also signage explaining this in detail as well. Every year I see new users thinking they thought of some holy deal that no one else considered. No offense, it's just others start thinking like that and it won't end well. Then for the week, we have to sit through some entitled users bitching and moaning about how Target wouldn't accommodate them despite them threatening lawsuits or whatever. Way to kill a good thing.
Target offers a good deal for a few years, and we are getting to the point where users that probably shouldn't know about the deal, know about the deal. They won't think this deal is enough though, it never is. Leave it to some exploiters threatening Target for not giving them a better deal which ultimately may have Target regret doing the sale in the first place.

Awwww, that is sad news to hear. Thank you for letting me know though, I didn't know it was done in this fashion and now that I do know I won't be taken by surprise. I'm reconsidering doing this deal a little since any way I work it in my head I will get overpriced to 80 sum dollars, but I still think I will go through with it. I made my mind up and I plan to buy Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition (60), The Walking Dead Season 1 (30), and The Wolf Among Us (30) all for xbox one. In my head, it seems I will end up a total of 90+ bucks. I might not buy Diablo 3 and get something else since that is really expensive!
Anyway, thank you again for letting a fellow gamespotter know. I really do appreciate it. :)

Dude, I wish the deal worked in that fashion. It would be AWESOME buying some cheapy games and getting some bad ass $60 game FREE...but I'm just trying to save you some hassle, aggravation, and time arguing with some minimum wage grunt and later some managers. They are all ready for you too, btw, they get people every year trying this and they prep for the sale and for the eventual debates by some strays.
Target likes to do this B2G1F deal right before Black Friday/Xmas December deals are coming. It's there way of beating other retailers to the punch because believe it or not, other sweet deals are still incoming from lots of retailers. On the flipside, you don't have to wait in upcoming HUGE hours long XMAS Lines or deal with the shopping mobs that December has. Target wins and the consumer that hates fighting crowds wins.
Notice to, they do it right before some key titles haven't released. Of course, those that waited on titles like Sunset Overdrive, Infamous, COD, AC Rogue/ AC Unity, Diablo 3, Bayonetta 2, Alien, Destiny, or whatever may find this works out great.
Good luck on your decision and your hunt! :)
BTW: The way it worked last year is the computer figured out what you should save, then dispersed the savings per game. In your case, you would save $30:
The total you would pay after getting your free game is roughly $90 BEFORE Taxes. You'll notice on the receipt though, you'll pay for each game with $30 you saved divided into all three titles. Something like this:
Total is still roughly $90 before taxes ($30 still saved) but they subtract the savings across each title JUST IN CASE you decide you want to return one game you would get $19.99 for the game or $49.99 for the game. As I said, it's all done by computer. I know more, but you get the gist. :)
Gamestop has also done B2G1F, but only for used games, and their process is different. No bigs, lol.
BTW: No, I never worked for Target in my life, I'm just very detail oriented.
I feel sad only owning a PS4 right now. I can't think of any 2 games that I'd even be willing to spend money on in order to get a third for free. I have a gaming PC, but I have Steam for that. I guess I'll just have to save my money. Plus a lot of the games can be bought for much cheaper on Amazon.
I caved, and bought ACU, Advanced Warfare, and Shadows of Mordor for PS4
...I don't even own a PS4 yet...
@PhazonBlazer: rofl I had to hold back. I just got an X1 and really want forza horizon 2 and sunset overdrive but am gonna wait it for holiday deals

You can get pre-orders? Also is BestBuy / Amazon matching this?
No preorders, games that are out. They aren't stupid, otherwise people would reserve GeoW4, Halo 5, Uncharted 4, etc. Target chose this date carefully. What they have is what you get. If they sell out, you can't order it. It's as plain you might think.
No, Amazon are not. Last year they did their own thing which was comparable but crappy in comparison.
BB is a store by store, who knows. A rep at the BB forum stated they will not be matching this promotion. BB has their own gamerclub thing they charge for though and their own deals.

No idea about Best Buy or Amazon, you can do any game coming out this week like MCC and ACU.
At least that's what it let me do online.

Online. I was going to run up to the store. Target is far off from getting my CC info this holiday season. :p
I'm going to run up there and see what's up. I was wanting FarCry 4. :\
EDIT: Thanks for the info.
