Team Fortress 2 best MP shooter of all time?

TF2 is all about team work and knowing what to do and when. Precision aiming is far from a requirement. Most weapons are extremely spammable. Something like an engineer you really don't shoot at all, you just sit back and defend your sentry. i5750at4Ghz

Hmm... I suppose you are right, but I think you are dramitcally understating the role that proper shooting plays in TF2.

How exactly does TF2 not fit in that definition? Because it seems to count when I play it.

Well it is about much more than just shooting stuff. Engineer, medic , spy are classes that do not rely on shooting to be efficient. Its gameplay reminds me of mmo raids/pvp more than shooters with its support, offensive and defensive classes and its focus on teamplay.

Well it's still a shooter, it's just not the dominant mechanic. Example someone with horrible aim can still be a very valuable teammate in TF2, someone with bad aim in CS, COD, Halo ect is nothing but a waste of a teammate.i5750at4Ghz

Well, where I am confused here is when you said TF2 is a shooter for non-shooter fans. Which is an extremely negative light to paint TF2 in. And now you seem to be implying that it isn't a bad game. I'm a bit confused here.

Not negative at all. Thats it's selling point. You don't have to have uber aiming skills to be suspenseful. Maybe you just took it negatively. Not what I meant at all.i5750at4Ghz

It isn't, even if it managed the overthrow CS as the No.1 from the Steam most-played list.

Quake 1 should get that title, it defined FPS multiplayer gaming

Its definately up there with the best, but i would put Q3A as No.1 MP shooter of all time EVER.

Totally agree, TF2 on the PC is the current MP shooter king.

That may be the case but for some classes it is the hardest fps I have ever played.. Trying to be a effective spy requires you to be patient, precise, unpredictable, as well as play mind games.. Nothing comes close to this in skill factor from any other shooter I have ever played.. Not Halo, not CoD, not Counter-strike.

It is the best one I've played since CoD4.

i have about 130 hours into that game. i pretty much don't play it anymore. Pretty good game but it has changed so much i cant keep up.

It's a very fun game; but not the best.

It's fun and very well balanced, certainly among the top mp shooters.

it is definitly the absolute best "free" one out there.
