this shows that tekken 6 is being directly ran from a PS3 laying to rest the exclusive argument.

Neat. I've been waiting around to decide on a fighting game to buy for my Playstation. I wasn't really into Virtua Fighter and I'd rather wait for the new Tekken game before I buy T5. Yet Tekken 6 looks pretty great, so that along with the next Soul Calibur will do me well.
Not exactly hardcore proof. It just mean the PS3 is the lead platform.
Yellow_Rose
Judging from the history of tekken, they have always been on a sont platform with the exception of tekken advance. Judging by this, it would be no surprise if it stayed. And don't they have an exclusivity deal w/ Sony? So it's going to stay exclusive.

So has Ace Combat. What happened there?
If Tekken 6 stays a PS3 exclusive (and that's a big "IF") it is because Sony paid Namco to see to it it stays that way. ;)

If that's true, then why isn't Ace Combat 6 a PS3 exclusive? This proves nothing. Criterion was developing Burnout Paradise with the PS3 as the lead platform, but that didn't stop them from making a X360 version. :|
[QUOTE="Shazenab"]Further proof the arcades are near death =[ (well not so much in Japan).HarlockJC
It will be a sad day when there are no more arcadesbut then again I don't go down and play at many arcades. Just give me a pinball machine and I will be happy.
Buta big reason why a lot of gamers dont go to the arcade in the west is because the big arcade gaints dont give the west a chance. F-Zero GX and a hella a load of other arcade games weren't released in the EU, so we;ll never know how well they could have done.

You're right why would a 360 owner want that button mashing fest when we have VF?

well da it is the most played fighter game ever. you don't see vf contest or tournaments do you.Sony's cocky blind days when they were not knowing the competition has stolen some exclusives are over, with the new management, I think any remaining exclusive won't slip from their hands.
As for Ace combat 6, I think it is an old habit for PS fans, so they let it go.

LMA:lol: You've got VF? a game thats not even popular amongst 360 owners? That's your defense against Tekken 6?
Pathetic.
[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]Cool. Get back to me when it plays as good as VF.SupraGT
doesnt matter when it's already more popular world wide
50 Cent is popular, too. Guess that means he's off the hook, fo' real.

but you are forgetting that tekken is an AAA series and popular at the same time.
VF is not really an AAA series, neither is it popular outside of Japan

Agreed. I don't think they will let anymore exclusives slip by.
They have to do something with all those PS3s that arn't being bought. AdolescentDonI know right? :D
Tekken has always been a Playstation console exclusive and thats never gonna changeSwift_Boss_A
Yup I imagine it was indeed hilarious when Square showed off a Final Fantasy Demo on the N64 only to later decide to release FFVII on the Playstation 1. Never say never. Never = Forever.
Cool. Get back to me when it plays as good as VF.BioShockOwnz
Opposite claim at best. AAA franchise vs AA isn't really comparable.
Even though it's been known for months, I guess some people needed further convincing. This is just one of those games that has very little chance of going multi-plat.
Edit: by multi-plat I'm speaking only amongst consoles. It's already multi-plat with the arcade. :P

Those numbers came from NPD and Media Create.
VGchartz just had them together in one package.

Anybody can dig up old sales numbers.I can do it if I had the time.
It's VGchartz's weekly hardware sales figure that I always dispute since they've been proven to be wrong on numerous occansions.
