And to new players who are getting b****** at by the "pros" for not playing well try playing a ctf server (specifically ctf_2fort), this game mode is more geared towards newb players and will help you get a grasp of each classes strengths and weaknesses. Most of the time 2fort just turns into a never ending deathmatch, which is good for players who need to practice.General_X

I for one Im part of those who are disappointed in this random weapon BS. I enjoy getting the achievements and I don't really like getting them just because. I was getting some of the Sniper ones earlier and while it's still fun it's not the same without a reward.

Well I am now really enjoying this game, despite the game crashing a couple of times while I am going through the menus. I now got used to the sniper, and I actually do a pretty good job at times. I even just got the "Be Efficient" achievement (Get 3 kills with the Sniper Rifle without missing a shot). I kinda wish there were some SP stuff through, but this game is really fun anyway. With that, I am now interested in buying this game, so I will probably get it tomorrow or sunday.:)

Even through I am sure OB would be worth getting, I will pass. I already have Portal and HL2, and I am not interested in the Ep 1 and 2. I am just going to get TF2 for $10.:)

Its one of the most popular PC multiplayer games.

To everyone complaining, just read the TF2 blog. It's all justified there.

Also, the old system was just as broken. At least this one is going to be improved with item trading, etc.

The new system is much better. Before the achievements things sucked since fair players like me played on normal server trying to unlock achievements. It took a long time to unlock new weapons this way but most people just went on achievement servers and unlocked new weapons in 10 min. Then you played against them and you got owned cause they had better weapons than you....

Anyway why are people complaing? We are getting a free updates and you guys still complain? The orange box was an amazing deal and now we are getting free updates, maps, weapons and new gameplay mods and yet people are still complaing. You guys should be glad that valve dosen't rip people off like companies do on consoles.

some maps look kinda cool, but they dont really play all that good, the western themed maps remind me of duke nukem time to kill or duke nukem zerohour. the rocket launcher that feels pretty cool i like that because it has alot of recoil. most games today the weapons dont have enough recoil. i kinda wish the game had better selection of weapons. i like the rocket and sticky bomb/timed grenade launcher but that sucks you cant shoot unlimited amount of bombs if you stick like more than 5 or 10 on the wall they will start to blow up, you cant stick like 26 say that's ur total amount count on the wall and then detonate it.gamewatereddown

You can only stick 8 sticky bombs on the wall.

This is because of balance and because anything greater than 8 would lag down people.

It's free and the weapons themselves are so good!
It added a lot of depth to spy and sniper.
Sniper was previously a simple point and click cIass. Now i can finally get involved in semidirect combat. (I hate camping.)
The new loot system IS FLAWED but You know Valve and they will make it better in time.
Personally i had hoped they would do this AND achievement milestones to satisfy the newcomers AND the 'i'm so tough i want everyone else to fail at having fun'-people.
