Thanks To Killzone 2.. I no longer enjoy other shooters

Ok, so after seeing tons and tons of amazing Killzone 2 footage and even getting a chance to play the beta at my friends house some time ago im very hyped for killzone 2 because it is amazing.. BUT one complaint i have, and i know this will sound strange.. is that Killzone 2 is Too Good and sets the bar so high. Dont get me wrong, thats a GREAT thing for Sony and Killzone 2 because they have a blockbuster on their hands.. But what about gamers and gaming in general?.. Here is what i mean.

After experiencing killzone 2 through the beta and countless game videos, i no longer enjoy COD,Resistance 2 and Gears like i use to. I hate to be this way but everytime i play either COD or Gears i find myself not being satisfyed anymore and thinking about these games just feel and look so last gen compared to Killzone 2. I use to think Gears 2 was amazing and the best looking game on the market, but after playing the multiplayer in Gears 2 and after playing Killzone 2, Gears 2 is almost a Joke Compared to Killzone 2 and COD weapons and graphics just feel and sound so weak compared to killzone 2. And dont eve get me started with Resistance 2, i always thought Resistance 2 looked and played on the generic side but now after playing Killzone 2, i cant even stand playing Resistance 2 anymore because frankly it doesnt come close to Killzone 2.

Bottom line is this.. here is some food for thought. Could Killzone 2 be SO good that it could kill the FPS genre?.. I mean think about it, Killzone 2 as amazing as it is, people and reviewers are already complaining thats just another FPS and there is way too many FPS on the market.. Well whats going to happen after Killzone 2 when the new COD games come out and they arent anywhere near as good to Killzone 2 and wont do as well since Killzone 2 has raised the standard. If no other FPS can compare to or exceed killzone 2, i think people will get tired of the genre.. that is until another FPS comes out that surpasses it

First of all, you saying Halo 3 was the best FPS you ever played when it came out takes away your credibility right there. We all know that Halo 3 is only a evolution to Halo and Halo 2, nothing different or mind blowing.You seem to get too hyped up for anything ne.

It's just a short attention span with games. Soon, another FPS will come around and you'll get sick of Killzone 2. It happens. We get excited about the newest thing. I used to be like that but not anymore. I'm still having fun with Call of Duty 4, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike Source, and Day of Defeat Source. Sure Killzone 2 is exciting but it doesn't make me not want to play the other great games.

lol i love this thread it gave me a good laugh. Play Crysis on a decent computer, and that will give you a new found appreciation towards FPS. KZ2 is a frankenstein game that just takes parts from every other FPS and doesnt come up with anything truly interesting. Crysis has substance to go with those Graphics, which btw destroy KZ2. If Cows actually think a console FPS is the best thing since sliced bread they need to get their heads checked. I love Halo3, but im not gonna tout that as the best game ever, and the MP was superb in Halo3. Oh it also had Coop something KZ2 forgot doesnt have.

TLDR

KZ2= average, Crysis = best FPS experience possible.

Hmm, you probably haven't played many shooters at all.

there's a much greater threat out there. Killzone 2 might be so good that real life will seem too fake to enjoy

Weak use of sarcasm.

Reviews tend to be based less on opinion. However, saying this game will be the best FPS game ever made, is solely based off opinion.

I played the beta for about 40 hours.

The shooting is extremely rewarding, and I think that's one of the most important parts of a FPS, and what'll keep people hooked.

I played the beta for Killzone 2,that's how I know how good the MP is, I LOVED CoD4, just like 95% of the people here, and these are my honest thoughts are Killzone 2. Its better than CoD4.
