the #1 reason you hate Mario Galaxy

Even if previous games had sperical levels i cant remember them doing it well, esp Rachet and clank.

SMG kinda did it right where all others failed

i honestly cant say one bad thing about this game except the story is already been done, even then they give us it in a more epic war like form where bowser has a full on war with the mushroom kingdom.

Was I commenting on reviewers scores, no. In my personal opinion Nintendo's first party titles are terrible. The last good first party Nintendo game I played was Ocarina of Time. In addition I think Mario as a series is overrated. Every entry in the series I have played I have not liked.

I still love playing those IP's.
It are the real games imo, I mean... Don't ya get sick of the same shooters over and over again with a different setting/graphics?
So far, every new Nintendo game with an old IP has done something new that dramaticly changed gameplay.

thats total bullcrap anyway. Nintendo has always made awsome games. The GC and GBA had a huge amount just like the rest. Its just that person probabaly does not have the intelligence or teh age to remeber those games.

This guy is right. Plus, Nintendo have a really nifty way of making each game in a series have an odd familiarity about it, while still being completely fresh, and it warms my heart. Part of how they do this is by using franchises that people know and love.

I'd much rather have a completely new game with the same character as another game than a tired concept reiterated with a new character with no personality that noone ever heard of and noone will remember.

Sorry, I need to change what I said... I've never played a 3d mario game. I played new super mario bros and wasn't a fan, but galaxy might be great. Havent watched videos, im buying it solely on the good reception it's getting.instantdeath999

Yoshi's Island had a spherical level long before R&C.

What year was Yoshi's Island? I can think of a few more games with spherical levels, and this must be settled immediately for the sake of System Wars.

Sonic and Knuckles bonus stage was spherical, so it wins.

I don't hate it. There is nothing to hate. its a game. If a game elicits hatred from you, you need to see a shrink. Having said that, this game is just as lackluster as every other Wii game. Collect gems, jump on bad guys, rinse repeat..

In summary: I don't "hate" SMG, but its nothing to write home about.

lets get one thing straight:

"When all is said and done, the thing that really makes Super Mario Galaxy such a standout game isn't the fact that it's another Mario game, but the fact that it doesn't even need to be a Mario game to be successful. Sure, it's got all the nostalgic flavor Mario fans would want, with the updated soundtrack, familiar foes, and various other Mario-related bric-a-brac scattered throughout the adventure, but the game never leans on these nostalgic aspects as a crutch. It instead puts the whole of its focus on its gameplay design, and with good reason. You could probably swap in just about any other characters from practically any other franchise, and this would still be a phenomenally fun game. That it layers all these memorable characters and components on top of that phenomenal design just makes it all the sweeter. If ever there were a must-own Wii game, Super Mario Galaxy is it."
