The $199 360 price cut will rule all.

First let get one thing straight, price cuts are not guaranteed to sell systems. Sony did it last year and got burned and m$ did it this year in Europe and got burned, too. Only 2 things sell system, new system hype and games, which the big 2 did not have at the time of their price cuts.

But why this price cut is different you ask? Well, M$ has games with it. No, not the hardcore games, the casual. Remember at E3 when the said that they're going after casuals. Yea, with the cering Worthy "Your in the movies" game. Yea, the game must be burnt.

Anyways, it not that game or the mii ripoff that I'm indifferent to that will sell systems but the music games. One in particular is Lips. Yes, it's a Singstar ripoff, but it a Superior rip off, one that lets you play any song non protected on it from you ipod,zune, or maybe you computers. Now before you get defensive, M$ is not sell it to us. It's For people who like this game and casuals. And for a game like this, Rock band 2, and Guitar hero 4 coming out and the 360 is the cheapest system on the market, you can't deny that people will not ignore this.

Also, ,Madden this month. Now before you say it's not a system seller, remember,not everyone into game has bought a system. This game is a huge seller, and most people who are into madden don't care what system they play it on.(I said most, don't bite my head of if you have a preference.)With the current temporary price cut of the pro and this game it will shake plenty of the loose from the "still just has his ps2" pile.

And final rpgs, now I know most of you thing rpgs suck(I love them),their is alot of people that do . Wrpgs and jrps the 360 has the best from both world.( though the pc is still king of wrpgs.) The 360 is best for the rpg lover of both worlds. The 360 is the counsel that has the most rps of this gen, (not counting handhead because handhelds are handhsld's not counsels.) and they are of great quality ,too. (Lost odyssey is incredible.)

This year the 360 is getting a massive amount and with the $199 cut and FF13 coming on the 360,everyone who's waiting for ps3 rpg can buy a 360 for cheap. Remember, when ps3 do get their massive amount of rpgs, it will be alot cheaper than it is now.

I'm not say M$ is going to win this counsel cold war or they're the best or the 360 is the best system ever, but the have a very good game plan. They all ready have most of the hardcore, but their appeal was too narrow and they are expanding it unlike Sony is now. Sony may serpast the 360, but no where near now do to this price cut. It may years from now when M$ is about to move to a new system. And this will not end Sony do to have some games now(R2, LBP, SOCOM, Motorstorm2 , Valkyrie Chronicles) but most people will look at the price of it look at 360 and buy the 360. But the 360 will not out sell the Wii.

I did not say the M$ will out sell the Wii. Just that it will expand their appeal. I not saying everyone will want one just that alot will. Ansd about the confusing part, $199 360 with no hdd is not confusing. People will look for the cheapest one. Wii will not stop selling but M$ is going to push their casual stuff.

It doesn't matter how successful this price cut is. It can't stop the juggernaut Wii on it's campaign to reign supreme. The majority of real enthusists have picked a system at this point. This price may bring in a few straggler causals who will buy a handful of games a year, but this isn't going to move the necessary mountains to put the 360 into a different landscape. Nothing is really going to change.

I did not say it will out sell the Wii. And it will apply need attention to the 360. I will cost close to the psp with mass appealing games like Rock band 2 and LIPS. I WILL GET SALES.

The funny part is that the 360 is cheaper than the Wii in the UK and it has the game, and yet it's in third place in sales. Yeah, that price cut will really help it :roll:Zhengi

No, the 360 don't get many must have games this year. In the start of This post I said the same thing you said and that it had little games for appeal.

Anything that has to do with the Arcade sku, is a failure in my book. The worst sku out of them all. I think if your going to buy a 360 go with the premium or elite. I agree with that. It only is capable of giving you half of the Xbox 360 is capable of. The online component is a huge part of the customer benefit package. And I'm not talking specifically multiplayer gaming. All the content and features it provides is a boon. If you don't have a hard drive you are missing out. It's 2008 - a hard drive should be a standard feature.

Wii, Ps3, Xbox 360 by the end of the gen. Wii masive lead, and a close race with PS3 and Xbox360. Microsoft will start a new system and start to drop the 360 as Sony start to really sell systems. With a new X box it's 2005 all over agein. M$ will have th most Game sale, NINTENDO with sell the most systems and S ony will have the most 1st party games.

For now I will be Wii, XBOX360 with a much stronger lead than the ps3 and then Ps3. No system is dieing or going anywhere.

Not really, I originally bought a cor 360 and a memory card. I bought the system for one game , Elder scroll. At the time the only advantage for having a hdd was to play old xbox games. Not having a hdd doesn't stop you from enjoying the system like the Ps2 and Gamecube. It really their for downloadable games, Demos and Videos. You can get a used on for cheap for $60 at Game stop and it regularly cost $100.

So ARCADE $199+$60=259> $299 PRO. The only difference is 40 gb.

I thought it was just a rumor, so I am guessing it's been confirmed to be true?dkhw
