Not really, I originally bought a cor 360 and a memory card. I bought the system for one game , Elder scroll. At the time the only advantage for having a hdd was to play old xbox games. Not having a hdd doesn't stop you from enjoying the system like the Ps2 and Gamecube. It really their for downloadable games, Demos and Videos. You can get a used on for cheap for $60 at Game stop and it regularly cost $100.

So ARCADE $199+$60=259> $299 PRO. The only difference is 40 gb.

I dont understand why would u want to buy an arcade sku only to buy the parts seperately? Your doing yourself a better favor buying the premium sku. Trust me u are going to be much happyer finding out u had some HDD space coming with the premium, especially if u want to try out demos and want to download stuff from the xbox live market. Besides MS should know that coming from alot of devs having an HDD standard is required.

Yea u can, it comes with a save card. But remember, cheap out in the beginning and you can still upgrade to a hard drive, but you end up paying more in the long run.
