I was thinking about buying a 360 a while back before E3 and i decided to wait till after E3 for some news on what microsoft is going to be doing with there console. and it just seems like the 360 is going really steep downhill right now, Microsoft says all there consoles are devective and do nothing about it(im sry i dont think a 3 year warrentee is good enough), then at E3 the didnt really announce anything new the just showed a bunch of mulitplats and videos of games we have all seen before. Then they cancel X07...

Im not saying its doomed i just needed a catchy topic name, but the 360 is having some major problems and it seems Microsoft dosnt really care.

You dont think repairing it for free if anything goes wrong in the next THREE YEARS is good enough? What exactly is good enough then? :|

You do know they cancelled X07, and are making a new show right? Why does everyone ignore that?

I think he wants nothing short of a complete recall, but a recall of the Xbox 360 would cost the company billions more than what they're paying now on honoring the new warranty.

well a console that you spend 100's of dollars shouldnt even break in the first place after only a few months.my 360 wasthe first time i ever had a console break on me my n64, ps1, ps2, and psp have all work fine several years after i bought them. the 3 year warranty is nice and all but i shouldnt have to send it in and end up without the console for an entire month waiting for it to come back. The 360 is a great console if only it wasnt to unreliable.

I would be okay with sending it in for repairs if it means getting back a working console that will last.

1) What did Sony announce new? nothing. Just a flashy Killzone trailer.

2) Defective consoles? So? Like PS2's defective Disc reader ... mine died permently ... I didnt have 3 years warranty to fix it ... OH SNAP.

3) Major problems? Dont really care? how ignorant can you get really?

Same COULD be said for Sony and Wii if you use COULD's..Thats strictly your speculation, I disagree with you because: 1) MS has invested too much money to just give up. 2) They don't want to give living room entertainment 'box' up to Nintendo and Sony. 3) E3's theme was right now if you hadn't noticed or payed attention....All games will be available this year.

3 year wararnty is nice and all but I'd rather have a console thats built sound enough not to need a warranty that long. Free repairs still take time away from having a console.

I will be the first to say there are flaws with all 3 systems, sony doesn't have a strong enough library for its high price point, the wii doesn't have games or a strong enough online service but then again its only 250, the 360 has a strong online community and a good library of games but has the biggest flaw of all hardware unreliability

Well the good news is all of those problems can be fixed. None of these consoles are going anywhere. How in heaven's name could the 360 be doomed and it has arguably the best holiday lineup this year? why are people so damn silly?

Having a system that doesn't break down. If you think of videogames as a service, then I guess you wouldn't care if your system only lasts 3 years. But for game collectors who like to horde a bunch of games and go back to play them at their leisure years later, a non-working Xbox 360 is not going to be very appealing in 10 years.
