Isn't what he's saying about how 4k reso eat more hardware power, in the progress limiting graphical fidelity. (example: Polygons, textures, etc)
The 4k scam ruined graphics advancement....will 8k do the same?

Performance per core sucks on 1700X. Not many games make full use of multi threading and more than 4 cores. The 7700K is better overall for gaming. I am not going to replace my 7700K yet, but if I was to buy a new CPU right now, it would be the 8700K. It has 2 extra cores over my 7700K and maintains the high PPC unlike the Ryzen offerings.
The 8700K is a decent CPU, miles better than the trash in your bottlenecked garbage PC. The reason I brought up the Ryzen 1700K is not because I think it's the best sh!t out there. It's because even though it's a budget CPU, it murders the trash in your PC. And yes the performance per core is not as good as the 7700K but it has TWICE AS MANY CORES AND THREADS, did you miss that? It's a lot better than the trash in your machine and it's a budget part. Upgrade your sh!t box already!

In this article, we focused entirely on gaming using the new AMD Balanced power plan. Of the 14 games we tested, many of the tests the AMD Ryzen 1700X was able to hold it’s own against the Intel Core i7-7700K. There were times where the AMD Ryzen fell behind the Intel i7 by as much as 10%. However, the inverse is also true, sometimes the AMD Ryzen 1700X took the lead over the Intel i7.
Otherwise the difference between them was 1-5% in most cases.
You can't rightfully call the 7700K which is a very good gaming CPU a piece of crap and then proceed to recommend a 1700X which gives the same performance and was released later. The 7700K won't be a bottleneck even at 1080p. I had a 4790K and it slaughtered at 100Hz.
