Well I'd say they didn't play the game on a monitor that could display the issues of having a sub-HD source. My 110" screen will display such issues, so it does matter to me. but then again I can't play it yet because my 360 is being repaired (again).

I like it when console fans try to talk technical, 1/2 of them thought fps meant another Halo until that became the new gimmick on console games. The fact of the matter is the 360 version looks worse due to the lack of VRAM/RAM in the system. Simple computer science: more res = more memory needed to run smoothly. Actual pixel count makes up for very little when you are talking about textur pop-in and loading times and overall LAAAAAG.

Down to personal choice I think PS3 looked better, I don't know if i can see AA but it sure looks like it, but at these low resolutions its pretty much a useless gimmick that does more harm than good. The install running some of the game off the HDD works great! Its noticably better than other games that don't use this on the PS3.

Summary: PS3 looks better, despite a higher resolution 360 version doesn't look sharper like people'd like to think with bigger = better reductionist approaches to things they barely know anything about. But atleast 360 online is workin.

They actually have the seasons on DVD now. (atleast at the Target I work at.) I was thinking of getting them. I own alot of Old 90s cartoons. My Bros think im a loser for doing it. lol. THey say "Grow up adn live in the now"

Hey donwoogie, by the way, do you have any tips on getting Grim Fandango to work on my XP? I really want to play it, but it keeps crashing after so many minutes in the game. I love Tim Schaffer games, and I was brought up playing adventure games now known as "cult classics".

Yes, but you are sacrificing advanced post-processing that has had reviewers across the board argue that the ps3 has the slight edge visually for a negligable amount of pixels. I am running the game on a 42" 1080p aquos that support full rgb and I had my buddy bring his 360 copy over that I ran on my elite. And the ps3 version honestly looked better. Colors are more vivid and the light effects look noticeably more realistic. My buddy even said that the 360 version looked kind of 'gray' compared to the ps3 version. So take this bit for what its worth, but I really think that if you want the best visuals, pick up the ps3 version. If you want dlc and achievements, pick up the 360 version.

That's very true if you dont like the way it looks just adjust your TV set... It's not that hard to do and technical people (including me) tune their HDTV's to the way YOU want the game to look... So just because it looks like this on a screenshot doens't mean it'll look like that on your TV set...

You'll never really get your games to look its best if you dont tweak your TV settings, and that's a fact.

For a game that has no AA it sure seems that the PS3 has much less Jaggies, then the 360, and the pop is much worse on the 360 version as well as the load times. I have the PS3 version, and I have seen the 360 version. the PS3 version wins hands down. I dont see this blurryness your talking about. The image is crisper, and the AA is better on the PS3, the colors dont pop as much but who cares. Rockstar themselves said the PS3 version was better. This is pathetic honestly.Realm_of_Mania

If facts are facts, how can you say DLC is on the way for PS3? You know it will not anything as large and significant as the DLC for the 360. Sure if you think downloading a new gun == downloading a whole new part of the city or new missions then keep on lying to yourself.

come on now that is over-the-top. We are splitting hairs here. Yes the 360 version is better with achievements, LIVE, and DLC, but saying 640p = sucks is like saying Halo3 sucks.

They truly are the same game at heart. Just the 360 has more to offer the gamer. That doens't meant the PS3 version sucks.

On a 110" monitor you will notice degradation of a 720p source, even a 1080p source... Of course blowing up an image up to billboard size results reduced quality. The largest monitor I've heard of is 103" but anyway you might be the only guy who could tell.

Uh both Xenon and the Cell are RISC CPU's, both being PowerPC derivatives. But yeah your right the Cell reqires completely different coding. (As in logic, multithreading etc. the instruction sets are probably fairly similar.)

I don't get why lems are saying "720p FTW" when the game LOOKS worse. It's like saying "the ps2 was more powerful than xbox because it had a stronger CPU" when the games LOOKED better on the xbox for other reasons (GPU). Resolution is one factor but when the difference is that small other factors come into play. People keep quoting B3D but they STATE the PS3 LOOKS better.
