I thought GTA might decimate but it appears Metal Gear fans are apparent here as well :)

Do you think it could be because it is not exclusive like MGS4? Multiplat vs multiplat, so more neatural votes instead of cows voting for Phantom Pain and lems, sheep and hermits team up on GTA. 

Anyways, very tough competition indeed, Glad to see it isn't completely one-sided, cause its absolutely not for me

Two completely different games.  Just because they are both open world doesn't mean you should compare the two.

I remember someone describing the two games (GTA IV and GTA V) in relation to the series that I thought was interesting. He said "GTA IV was the sequel to GTA III while GTA V will be the sequel to GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City.

I think it was just a user who said it and I think all he had going for it was the information that he had at the time but judging on trailers and the recent gameplay footage he may have been onto something, perhaps.

gta5 looks too "hollywoodized" and overhyped like borderlands 2 was.

MGSV on PS4. Gameplay will be better on MGSV as well, it puts RDR to shame.

GTAV will run on PS3/360 at 720 and low framerate. It will probably be out on next gen eventually, but no word yet.

If only it worked that way.  I've owned every GTA besides China Town Wars and beaten none.  They're all fun games, but its absolutely up to preference.  Saying a person will have more fun with GTA than their favorite game (lol) just because you like GTA is a bit much.

If I told you that you would have more fun with SMG2, MGS3, NGB, or SotN than you would with a GTA game you would probably think I'm crazy.  Well, the same works in reverse lol.

Honestly, I find the GTA games to be very impressive on a technical level.  I buy them every time just because of that.  But if I came up with a list of my top 200 games of all time, not a single GTA game would be on there.

Preference man.

Now that GTA V got a 9.0 lets see if MGSV can surpass it. I still have hopes that this'll be Gamespots next 10/10 game. 

On another note: I certainly hope GS will bring back increments (preferably 0.1, but 0.5 is fine too)

Metal Gear Solid is a badly written anoo episode with gameplay barely connected. So GTA, purely on the basis, it is actually a game.

Whatever Rockstar North does for next gen in like 5 years will destroy MGSV. The amount of stuff they're cramming into GTAV is really impressive. mems_1224
