The best console turn based video game? Game?

My friends, using the entire globe as a platform, continuing on from real-time, let us, as a cohesive whole, aspire and... hopefully, ultimately conclude on a penultimate opinion as to what is, in fact, the greatest turn based game consoles have ever witnessed.

Please though, no pc games or multiplatform games developed predominantly with pc mind.

Handheld games are acceptable.

Turn based strategy game or turn based game?

Strategy game I'm leaning towards Valkyria Chronicles over Advance Wars (handheld, don't give a ****), throw jrpgs in the equation and I'm leaning towards Mother 3 and Chrono Trigger.

Thats a lot of great games right there, are we judging purely on combat or just games that happen to be turn based? I'll do a little of both

Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth 3, this one is kinda a happens to be turn based game that is excellent. The combat system is fun, but it gets repetitive and easy, however the writing and characters always make the Neptune games way better then they may seem at face value, and this one is the best for that, at least to me.

Judging purely on the combat I'll give it to Valkyria Chronicles, I think it counts due to being a console exclusive for such a long time, but either way this has some of the best combat in any game that I have ever played, plus it had a fairly good war story to go along with it.

Plenty other games I could pick from but I'll keep it at 2

My all-time favorite would be Chrono Trigger.

Ogre Battle 64. Most depth of any console strategy game.

He said no multiplats or games developed for PC he seems to think when a PC game comes to console it suddenly becomes 'bad'.

Disgaea? Never played this series but I've heard high praise about this series.

That is actually not a bad answer at all, the game was huge, deep, fun and challenging in a good way, very, very underrated game.

Aside from that, i could also add Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire Emblem Sacred Stones and Valkyria Chronicles.

If we go for turn based game, then for me, is Chrono Trigger.

My favourite FF style battle game is "The Last Remnant" which ended up being a broken console (poor Xbox version, no PS3 version) release but was very good on PC.

Other than that most turn based games are PC because most console people have ADHD, probably why Final Fantasy turned to shit.
