The greatest day in gaming history, I think, will be when each system has photo-realistic graphics. Meaning you can't get any better. This way devs will have to work on game-play, length, story and all the other categories to make their games truly better than the competition. Enough spending nearly all your budget on graphics (Lair).

Do you agree or do you have a day you think will surpass this day, please don't use "day Brawl/MGS4/ext will come out".

The best day in gaming history would be the day that sony microsoft and nintendo work together and make one console, that way they can aim at every gamer-catogary, everyone can play ALL the releasing games (playing mario, mgs, killzone, halo and so on)

When Rare and Nintendo form their own company called NinRar. Then each 1st party game will be the greatest game ever made for their system!

Sonic 2 day. Seriously, we need more than just one game that shipped the same day in all markets.

Graphics are not as important to me as AI. When the scopes of games broaden to include living, breathing worlds that function independently from the outside world, that will be the best day in gaming history. The processing power necessary for such a virtual world is still many years in the future, though.

I'd say the day Super Mario Bros came to the NES. It saved the industry after its 2 year slump. The only game to come close to surpassing Mario in sales was Pokemon, a Nintendo game made by Miyamoto to some extent.

The NA market crashed as there was constant shovelwaere being released on the Atari 2600.

the day the companies come together and make one machine is the WORST day in gaming.

monopolies are bad, competition is what drives the industry and brings better games and technology to us.

with that said, the best day in gaming history is tomorrow. and the day after. and the day after.

it can only get better people, and tomorrow it could be you or i making the decisions.

Nintendo didn't save the gaming industry, many publishers were bankrupted because of nintendo's mopolistic behaviour. If it wasn't for the PC there probably would've been very little left.

No, the developers will just focus on populating the game world with as many things as possible.

And when there are 20 different shooters people will buy the one they hear is the best. If you want multi million sales devs know you have to make a good game.

That'd be cool but it would turn bad quickly. People wouldn't want to live their real lives.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Do you know how expensive that console would be? Removing all of the competition out of the industry... preposterous!

Eliminating software exclusives doesn't mean there can't be competition. Look at how the PC manages things.
