Are we in agreement that it is Rockstar? Maybe you have another developer in mind?
EDIT: poll options based on replies, sorry if I left off anyone's favorite.

Considering that Manhunt 1 and 2 were mediocre (and I'm a stealth fan), Max Payne 3 was a great looking yet shallow shooter, and let's not forget their Ping Pong game... no, it's not Rockstar. They have some amazing games, but if you are going by consistency, I'm going with Valve. Are we in agreement that it is Rockstar? Maybe you have another developer in mind?

I'd say CDPR. Not only cos they make good games but their incredible attitude towards the industry.
Other than that probably Naughty Dog or R*.
Naughtydog.............they are the best of the bests. The last of Us and Uncharted 2 are the best games of all time.AtariKidX
But Portal 1/2 and Halflife 1/2 are better.
Also TF2.
I agree that it's Rockstar, and anyone who says that it's Bethesda like on similar threads is wrong, Skyrim didn't even work on PS3.Are we in agreement that it is Rockstar? Maybe you have another developer in mind?

Great job at disregarding the most famous gaming franchise.

How immature to invent lies like that just to smear Bethesda. Are we in agreement that it is Rockstar? Maybe you have another developer in mind?

GTA is not the most famous. Probably one of them, but not even close to being THE most famous. Some good choices so far...but I've seen Paradox twice now and I'll admit I don't even know who they are. What games did they make?HadOne2ManyI'm guessing you don't play much on the PC :P http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Paradox_Interactive_games too long to list.
I hope not :? :PDidn't we have a thread a while back saying that Nintendo was the best developer?
LegatoSkyheart
I can not say one best outright, but the running is:
CD Project Red
Naughty Dogs
Nintendo's internal gamin studio EAD ithink it is? keep forgetting -.-
Rockstar North
Valve
Those are likely my picks for the best, mose eficient, and the ones putting in most care in their games.
Out of those, since the high mark of the end product are around the same, I would look at the service and attitude they have towards the gamers.
As such CD Project Red, and Valve takes the top spots, and ironically will place Bethesda in the running aswell.
[QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]I hope not :? :P We did, actually. It's in my sig :PDidn't we have a thread a while back saying that Nintendo was the best developer?

Paradox Creative Assembly Bioware (I STILL BELIEVE DAMMIT!) Bethesdablue_hazy_basic
Actually yea, CA as well. They don't make perfect games but when you have the scale and scope they have, it's kinda a given it will have rough edges. I wouldn't list Paradox tbh. They just shove out as much shit as they can. Some games are great but alot of them are downright pre-alpha state.
[QUOTE="charizard1605"]but not even close to being THE most famous.faizan_faizan
No.
Yes. Mario, Pokemon, Counter Strike, League of Legends, The Sims, Pac-Man, Halo, Call of Duty, FIFA, Madden, all franchises that are at least as famous as, if not more famous than, GTA. Which automatically, by definition, makes GTA, at best, one of the most famous gaming franchises.[QUOTE="HadOne2Many"]Some good choices so far...but I've seen Paradox twice now and I'll admit I don't even know who they are. You're right, when I get a game on my PC it is usually just a game available for consoles as well (Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, etc).

Sorry, I just tried to go back and play GTA 4 again and I just lost interest with it. I loved it at the time, but in my opinion, it didn't age well. And even if it did, one game (or series of games) isn't enough to qualify a developer as the greatest of all time. And hey... it's OK to disagree with me, you know.[QUOTE="faizan_faizan"][QUOTE="donalbane"] Considering that Manhunt 1 and 2 were mediocre (and I'm a stealth fan), Max Payne 3 was a great looking yet shallow shooter, and let's not forget their Ping Pong game... no, it's not Rockstar.
