Yes. Mario, Pokemon, Counter Strike, League of Legends, The Sims, Pac-Man, Halo, Call of Duty, FIFA, Madden, all franchises that are at least as famous as, if not more famous than, GTA. Which automatically, by definition, makes GTA, at best, one of the most famous gaming franchises.[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="faizan_faizan"]

In the south east Asian countries, there are a lot of people who have no idea what Mario is, yet they know what GTA is.
False, actually. I would know. I come from one. Most people have played Mario on those old Famicom rip offs. Also, that completely disregards Pokemon, which is inarguably more famous.[QUOTE="faizan_faizan"][QUOTE="charizard1605"]but not even close to being THE most famous.charizard1605

India is in South Asia. No eastern in there.Seeing Turn 10 get a few nods here too. Also one of my favorites, but I just see them as a one trick pony. They definitely make waves and force other devs in their genre to play catch up, but IMO Rockstar does this same thing for the entire industry. I honestly feel they are in a league of their own. Even the titles that aren't as successful as GTA are pushing the boundaries as to what we should expect from our games, whether it is through story, acting, animation, graphics or game mechanics. They always seem to raise the bar and bring something new that other companies are soon to copy. HadOne2ManyI can agree with this as Rockstar games are usually very high quality. But even though Turn 10 only makes racers, they haven't made a bad one yet. They continue to push the hardware and Forza community forward. I give them plenty of respect.

Regardless, I think faizan was referring to India and the like.In the south east Asian countries, there are a lot of people who have no idea what Mario is, yet they know what GTA is.

You know whats funny? And I know I'm in the minority for this. But after spending so much time building those relationships and friendships, I kinda wanted the cheesy ending of everyone meeting up after the battle, some cool lines, hugs, maybe a wedding and everyone having a final goodbye as the credits roll. With the extended ending I dont hate it as much, but I kinda wanted a happy ending for the game with my love interest, ect. The ending they used, while better when it was extended, felt like it wasnt personal when so much of the game from the first one was. Just my two cents. From that list Naughty Dog. Heil68Yeah Naughty Dog seems to be running away with it. Not sure if it is deserved or just because we are on System Wars though. Also could just be because TLOU is still fresh on everyone's minds.
Naughty Dog is on that list, but not any part of Nintendo... Absolute fail.
Anyways, Nintendo for sure for having high quantity and quality.
blame the posters, Only had like two people talking about Nintendo.Naughty Dog is on that list, but not any part of Nintendo... Absolute fail.

If I really need to explain the current lack of quality in Bioware games to you than you are part of the problem.
Good day, Sir.

Darn if I was there for the preliminaries it would have made all the difference. My vote counts 101 times. Me plus one for every Pikmin that follows me and they MUST obey me :P
If we're going with modern era games I'm saying CD Projekt Red. They're the golden child of game development right now with the right ideas, the right amount of polish and the right amount of ambition to consistently vault each new release ahead of what they had previously released.
If we're going with best of all time since gaming started it's Nintendo. That legacy of theirs is too strong to ignore. You can also consider SquareSoft as well if you ask me.

It really does, but its all before the last chapter of the game. Its not that iconic last ending scene that I felt ME truly needed. Like I know Gears is a dude bro shooter and all, but seeing a soldier toss aside his gar after war and just sit peacefully on the beach, thinking about all he's seen and done and lost, that was IMHO a great ending for Marcus Fenix. Shepard deserved, far, far better before the credits rolled IMHO.I think CD Projekt RED will probably need to have at least 2 or 3 good franchises under their belt before they can compete with the others on the list. I was expecting to see a lot more Nintendo supporters though. Super Mario Bros was the first console game I ever beat and I could still probably nail a speed run in 6 or 7 minutes. If we're going with modern era games I'm saying CD Projekt Red. I think we should see a stronger CD Projekt line-up over the next few years. The Witcher series comes to an end soon and Cyberpunk 2077 has a lot of folks intrigued. It will be interesting to see where they go from Geralt's story, but they have managed to only impress with each release.
I'm also surprised that so few people are mentioning Nintendo. Sure, they haven't released a real game changer since 2010 (at least one developed in-house), but their legacy is really strong. Still, I think Nintendo needs to go big very soon. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is one of the greatest of all time, but they haven't reached those same heights since then. Now, I haven't played Skyward Sword, but I'm not sure if that game will be on the same level as Galaxy 2. But I want to see Nintendo drop some bombshells on the WiiU and if that will help push units.
Obsidian is pretty good. I knw you kids will all cry about their games releasing with bugs, and that does suck, but New Vegas was brilliant and South Park Stick of Truth is going to own, I just know it...
