Even with all the hate that ME3 got, Mass Effect is easily the most highly regarded series, that I'm at least a little bit interested in, and have never played. But, I got ME 1 and 2 for free during Origin's "sale" last weekend, and I'm just finishing up some other games to uninstall and make room to try them out. Hope I'm not disappointed.
you should buy bioshock now that its cheap. Great Series and you wont be disapointed.Bioshock gets a lot of praise, and I've never gotten around to playing one yet. Doesn't seem bad, I've just always had other games to buy/play.

Well I can't say it's the best if I never played it, can I.Cherokee_JackThat's what I'm thinking. There are great games that I never played because I know I wouldn't fit my taste. :)
A toss up between Super Mario (main series)
or the Fallout series.
Honerbly mentions:
Thief
Fallout
X-COM
Ultima
Final Fantasy
Well I only played King of Fighters 13 and 98, so I guess that would be my pick since I had a total blast with 98 and love 13.
Other than that, I'm not sure. If I had any sort of interest in playing a series, I would have, granted I've heard of it.
I don't have the slightest interest in playing it, but Uncharted is a series with high scores that I haven't played.
Metal Gear Solid and Thief are two other solid ( :P ) franchises that I haven't played, but I really want to.

Okay, well, it's hard to think of an acclaimed series I haven't played a game from, at least in demo form.
Gran Turismo? I don't think I've ever played that. Or maybe I did and I just fell asleep too fast to remember it.

Disturbingly large amount of people have played Fallout 3 and NV but not Fallout.
Bad SW, Bad

That's just how it works.
Out of all the people who played Skyrim, only a quarter played Morrowind.
Go figure.
But thing is, Skyrim is mostly better than previous incarnations. Fallout 1 and 2 are the best damn RPG's I've had the pleasure of playing

I disagree about Skyrim.
Fallout, yes.
Fallout 1 & 2 are top notch role playing games.

Skyrim may have had better gameplay and graphics than Morrowind. But Morrowind killed Skyrim in story, characters and quests. The main sonic games. I was and am a Nintendo boy. I've played Mario and Sonic.
I had a nes and snes and never got around to them. Are they worth going back to now? Where do you start?
I rented Fallout, Skyrim, and GTA4 and didnt like any of them.
crimsonman1245
So? This about game series you never played and those are also games APART of a series and not the series as a whole.
On Topic: Probably Deus Ex. Sounds like one of the best series of all time even with the infamous second game and I really like the cyberpunk $+y|e they go for in it as well. Also the Half Life games. Although I did play Half-Life 2 Episode 1 I have yet to play the main games at all. Oh and the GTA series as well as Metroid and maybe Persona (seems like a very unique and interesting RPG game).
[QUOTE="daisypeach"]oh man, i remember the first time a school friend brought his brand new megadrive into school and we watched him play sonic at dinner time. unforgettable, the graphics and speed at which sonic seemed to go was just insane (for the time obviously). I enjoyed 1 & 2, i cant remember playing or enjoying any other sonic games (sonic 2 was the one with the transition to 3D tunnels for some sequences IIRC)The main sonic games. I was and am a Nintendo boy. I've played Mario and Sonic.

Start with sonic 1 then? Would you say its still playable?
Sonic 2 and 3 and knuckles are all great, I've never played the first one. Definitely worht playing today. The main sonic games. I was and am a Nintendo boy. I've played Mario and Sonic.

How would I know if they're the best if I've never played them?Stevo_the_gamerLike the OP said, there's probably some really game that's been on the market for a while that you just never picked up. Like Game of Thrones is probably one of the best shows I never watched. Not to guarantee what you post will be good in my or even your opinion if you do play it (ex. Uncharted 3 before I played it) but just make an educated assumption.

Elderscrolls.
While I just started playing it if that counts. But holy crap these games are fun. I have no clue why I didn't play these sooner, or when I wasn't in college or when I was single and actually had gaping amounts of freetime.

Wait...so the area where games matter...Morrowind faultered where Skyrim succeeded yet people love Morrowind more?
That's....just...odd.

No it's not. It's a flawed game but I have a fondness for it because of the world and the story/lore. The enviroments were different from the typical Tolkein type stuff we are so accustomed to in RPG's. It just seemed like a great world. I still give Skyrim props for being the better 'game' but on a personal level I prefer Morrowind

Yeah I get what you mean, I still have a fondness for Morrowind; the land, the people, the quest (still have to defeat Dagoth Ur) as well but as far as the better games go, Skyrim and (don't kill me) Oblivion are much better than Morrowind.
