@jg4xchamp: DK is your Duck Tales...
The most recent one would be Resident Evil 7 in VR. Not very far in the game. I've just been attacked for the first time and it was one of the most disturbing yet awesome experiences in my gaming life.
Super Nintendo. Nothing compares to those days for me. Although the PS1 comes close with some titles like Castlevania, Xenogears, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Suikoden, Tony Hawk, Driver, Silent Hill, Metal Gear, etc
On PC the Myst games, specially the first two because of how they transported me to other worlds.
Everquest 1 was the first MMO I ever played, there were real people running around in a virtual world, an excellent community of some of the best people I have ever met teaming up and helping one and other to explore the huge world and kill monsters. It was something I had never experienced before; to me it was magical and something I will likely never experience again.
Playing ReVolt on Xbox Live during the Beta. Almost all of the guys I raced with those first few days became friends, many still on my friends list today.
From this Gen:
Playing Bloodborne, my first souls game, I died more times than I could count on the first level! My friend and I bought it together and we were both getting our asses kicked. But we kept playing and eventually it started clicking and we got through the game.
Getting completely engrossed in Yakuza 0's story, then about 3/4 the way through I realized it was a Japanese soap opera, and I was like "wow soap operas can be good"
Past Gens:
Playing Tiger Woods 2003 on ps2 with my dad. It was the only video game he would play, and to this day it's the only game he has ever played.
Playing NASCAR 1998 on PS1 and driving backwards. It was like playing Burnout before Burnout.
Getting past the jet ski level in Battletoads
Going to the Video Store and renting Games. Specifically Star Wars Demolition and Twisted Metal 2.
Winning Clan matches on Socom 2. I use to be a member of GameBattles.com and I would do clan matches.
My friends and I were once completely obsessed with MGS3 when it came out. I completed it 5 times or more and would always try to play differently or try to find secrets. We would get together as a group and discuss how we played it.
I will mention MGS2.
What it accomplishes can not possibly be done again. When I finished it, part of me was thinking that it was the best game ever for good reasons.
In the history of gaming, wow.....I'm not that old. Ok, I'm almost hesitant to answer because it feels personal, but here are 2 that jump to mind, super memorable experiences for me:
-The opening sequence of Castlevania Symphony of the Night(PS1, up until the point where you meet Death basically). The first time I experienced this I was entranced.....I was almost melting from pleasure as I was playing it. It was an explosive opening, crystal clear graphics, spectacular sound quality and music(it was CD at the time, much higher quality than previous gen cartridges and the opening tune is one of my favorites), buttery smooth gameplay, I still remember clearly how I felt when I was controlling Alucard and taking out those big wolves in the beginning. I immediately made the decision right there to purchase the PS1 and the game, which by the way SOTN costs around 92$ back then(cdn$ after taxes), and sales back then almost did not exist.
-Playing Super Contra 3 on the SNES: This is one of the most distinct and amazing action side-scrolling shooters I have ever played. I was so amazed the first time I played it, it felt so different than the other Contras and it was so action packed with huge bosses and tons of action. One of my favorite SNES titles.
The first time I experienced a draw in Super Smash Bros on 64. My mates and I weren't aware of the draw bonus round thing, and my god was it intense. Many long nights on Goldeneye. Mario Kart 8 on the Switch has rekindled my love for Nintendo. Discovering COD Online was amazing at the time (my first was World at War, I saved every penny I could towards a 360) so many great experiences, its too hard to pinpoint one exact one
The first time I saw Mario 64 in Toys R us. I was age 16 in 1996 and it was the first "O CRAP" 3D game I had ever seen. (3D gaming at that level was new back then) When I saw Mario running and jumping in that little starting area outside the castle, I was like "No way a game can look like this." It was a new era.
Mario 64 was a game that changed the video game industry forever. I wish I could show young people today what that felt like, as many will not understand due to their age.
Final Fantasy X in general
Playing COD4 online for the first time was mindblowing at the time.
Playing online gaming for the first time in general ( Socom Fireteam Bravo on my PSP)
Mass Effect trilogy
Red Dead Redemption ending ( Didn't see that coming as I don't watch many Westerns)
The Last Of Us ending had me like (OH MY!)
TimeSplitters Future Perfect is still the best party FPS game I have ever had
It is funny that you say Socom. Socom II on the PS2 was my greatest game experience. I had so many friends and family back in the day play that game every day.
Well that's easy, that's with SONY, current gen 8 most recent AAAAE and 3 top 5 GOAT's
Current gen 8 console sales king, and with a mantra of by gamers for gamers....playstation can't be stopped. What a great time to be alive. I Never seen such a humble gaming king before.
Nuking your opponents on Civilization V
Getting Mmmmonssterrr kill on Unreal Tournament
First Blood
Ownnage
Double Kill
Triple Kill
Multi-Kill
Ultra Kill
M-m-m-m-monster kill
Rampage
Unstoppable
Holy Shit!
Too many to name but I had my most recent one today, playing Robo Recall on Oculus Rift. The immersion blew me away right from the intro and it's one of the most intense gaming experiences I've ever had. The Touch controller implementation is genius.
Zelda Link to the Past and Super Metroid were probably the best experiences I ever had. I'm just not as impressed with newer games. I still prefer the 2d era over 3d. During the 2d era games were less complicated. They were fun and easy to pick up and play. I beat Dark Souls and I had to have a phd in it by the time I was done.

No doubt that was Amazing as well as Jumping those 3D Waves in Wave Race. That N64 Launch was Ridiculously Good!!
So many come to mind but I'll go with:
Having a 1v1 match on MW2 against a mate on Rust. Now, I loved trolling him and cmaping on every level but because Rust is so small, it was diffcult to do so I had to move around a bit while he tried to outlast me. In retaliation, he started camping as well, so I sent him a message over PSN saying "right behind you". He literally bolted from his position, I saw him and I lit him up! From then on he couldn't mount a come back and I won...with one kill hahahaha
Probably the Last of Us is the greatest gaming experience Ive ever had, and I've yet to find a game that could ever compare.
That game was truly special.
Either one of the following:
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Final Fantasy VII
Metal Gear Solid 2
Oh yeah, forgot to mention my best arcade experiences:
Dennou Senki Net Merc - first experience with VR back in the mid-90s
OutRun 2 SP SDX - best experience with a hydraulic motion cabinet
Best gaming experience i ever had was playing a shitty MMORPG called Cabal Online, with people from the same country as me. Not that the game as any good, albeit it was addictive, whatever. But the drama, the friendships, the sheer amount of memorable moments that we cherished throughout the years (2008 - 2011). I'll never forget this.
Single player wise, playing Planescape: Torment and S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl for the first time. Almost a decade later, here i am playing the same two games for what must be the 20th time, with various mods installed.
My best game experience with Devil May Cry, halo3. these are my favorite games and I really enjoyed to play these games on my Acer Predator XB271HU gaming monitor.
I think my best gaming days were between 2009 and 2013. I lived near cold hill station. Stayed awake late during dark nights of winter to play games like Witcher 2, Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake etc. There were no family problems or worrying about job back then. I only had to eat and play games. GF loved gaming too, so, I had plenty of time for gaming.
Playing Half life 2 and Salker shadow of chernoboyl for first time. never fogot how i was blown away. the atmosphere of Stalker blew me away like no other game before.
First playing RPGs like the Ultima series, AD&D Gold Box games, Bards Tale, the Wizardrys and Might & Magics back in the 80s.
Walking out of the sewers in Oblivion, and seeing the world fade in. Blew my young mind away.
...and it all went downhill from there
shenmue 1 and 2 RDR ninja gaiden demons souls RE REMAKE and code veronica skyrim the last of us mass effect 2 mario galaxy xenoblade chronickles half life 2 doom 3 horizon zero dawn riddick MGS3 MGS4 halo CE halo 4 gears of war 1 the witcher 3 bloodborne alien isolation life is strange the walkind dead season 1 uncharted 2 uncharted 4 god of war 3 batman AC AC2 SO MANY GAMES
I would have to say GTA V. Never before has a game been amazing enough to be game of the gen 2 gens in a row. The highest rated and best selling.
- The train scene on Uncharted 2
- A lot of Freedom Wars, Jstars, and God Eater: Resurrection on PS Vita
- A lot of every Guitar Hero ever released with friends
- God of War 3. All of it.
Probably the competitions my sister and I would have growing up. Like if I was stuck on a spot and she got past it on her save file it was a big deal and vice versa. My most notable 1-ups on her were:
Figuring out how to get the boss appear in Dark World Level 4 in a Link to the past. We spent hours but I was the one to finally figure out you could throw bombs.
Beating Donkey Kong Country first
Beating Aladdin on SNES first
Beating Donkey Kong 64 first
Finding all 4 seeds in Paper Mario to unlock Chapter 6.
Beating Chapter 4 of Paper Mario TTYD
She had plenty one ups on me though, she
Beat Mario All Stars, Mario World, and Yoshi's Island first
Got way farther in Goof Troop on SNES than I ever could
Beat Scooby Doo on SNES first
