The last two are optional, and I think SMG used the wiimote alot. Motion sensing isnt the only thing on the wii, the pointer is the real innovation .
[QUOTE="starwarsgeek112"]Mario Kart Wii uses the Wiimote.
And in SMG the pointer function alone makes the Wiimote worth while.p2rus
the pointer function is, needless to say, pointless.

Yea right, take out the pointer and you have a completely different game.
all i used it for is collecting the stars...
and yes i have played it.

Manta ray surfing?
Rolling Ball?
Levels in general(some cant be beat without it)
Yea we can tell you've played it.

my bad the ones that i played didnt use it at all.
plus, r+c uses motion sensing a lot and i would say that if you took all those out ud still have the same great game.

Mario Kart Wii isn't even out yet. How can it be the best Wii game?
Galaxy uses the Wii Remote for the star pointer, Ball-Rolling, and ray surfing.
How about you add Metroid Prime 3, Zack and Wiki, Zelda: Twilight Princess, and No More Heroes, and come back later.
the best game that uses the senor is wii sports, i dont see how brawl couldnt be done on the gc.p2rus
Graphics.
And I don't recall the GC ever having online. :|

the graphics are ok for brawl but i mean its a fighter with nintendo characters, lots of stuff happening on the screen, but im sure they could have put it on the gc.

Nope. The graphics are Super Mario Galaxy-quality. They wouldn't be doable on a GC.

what im saying is taht they could stick it on the gc without any substantial loss of quality. i mean we never know what a console has up its sleeve.

So you don't use the pointer to collect Star Bits?
No More Hereos?
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption?
Trauma Center?
Zack and Wiki?

care to tell me how you played through the game without using the pointer to activate a pull star, enter levels, do manta ray surfing or ball rolling? or did you even get that far

Also don't forget about space.
SSBB content has basically pushed the Wii disk to the limit, and it has a lot more space than a Gamecube disk...
So people who think SSBB as a GCN game, that would be really dumbed down graphics, fewer game modes, characters, trophies, etc. and no online.
Just because Brawl lets you have the choice to use a Gamecube controller doesn't mean it's a Gamecube game... :| No, that's courtesy from the game developers knowing that the gamers already know and love using Gamecube controllers best for the series... And it's already been proven that the people like them best too... How many people actually use the Wii remote on the side, or with nunchuk, or c.lassic controller over the Gamecube controller?... Thank you Sakurai.
Super Mario Galaxy - other than shaking to twirl, doesn't really use it.
Super Smash Brothers Brawl - Gamecube controller
Mario Kart Wii - Gamecube controllerdeath919
with the exception of MPC then yes your right which is weird.
Super Mario Galaxy - pull stars, collecting star bits, spin attack, manta ray surfing, rolling on the ball, and menu navigation. I may have missed something.
Super Smash Brothers Brawl - smash attacks, menu navigation.
Mario Kart Wii - TURNING!!!1!1! Duh??!!? And who knows what else.
However, I am including the pointer function as motion sensing.
Yes. That's a good thing. It's called not overusing it. Overuse it and you end up like one of those minigame collection that everybody rants about so much on here.
However, Zack and Wiki using the motion sensing quite a bit (and to great effect), No More Heroes has its fair share of motion sensing, and Metroid Prime Corruption and MOH:H2 use the pointer and some motion sensing to make spectacular controls.
I think you should change your topic title to
The best Wii games don't abuse motion sensing.
Besides the accelerometers, and tilt functions aren't the best part of the Wiimote. That honour belongs to the IR. Motion sensing and tilt have all been done before but IR is the one truly revolutionary thing about the wiimote.
