It is estimated to have cost 80+ million dollars and a 5+ year development cycle. The game supposidly is horrifyingly bad and the studio is most likely going to collapse. Electronic Arts unfortunately funded this project. Oh and tihs game is on daikatana levels.

Here is a thought: When investing 80 million dollars in a game, make sure to hire more than 5 people to play test it. Then, when they have tested it, address the feedback when it says the game is an utter piece of ****

Is it really bad? I thought it looked alright from previews, did anyone tried the beta? And $80 million? Really, that's like GTA4/FF13 level.

Jeez, they must have bought everyone in their whole studio brand new Lambos and Ferraris to get the cost that high LOL. To put this in perspective, how much did KZ2 and is GT5 taking to develop?

I think it was $60 million each. This is kinda sad considering I had high hopes for this game. The idea was great, 100 people in an open world shooting each other or doing quests.

Where is the common sense? The concept doesnt even sound very interesting. I expected this game to be terrible the moment i saw it and of course its looking more and more likely.

dude i love too human :) me and my friend play it quite often.

oh don't get me wrong, i kept my copy because i enjoyed bits of it (specifically playing as a commando)

*but* ya gotta admit, the end result really doesn't reflect how much time and money they spent making it (it cost 4x as much as Crysis??)

I heard it wasn't too bad, but rife with some balancing issues and a lack of any RPG features that keep games like WoW so addicting.

They shouldn't have made it MMO like, they would have had more time to make the gameplay better, and it also could have been on the consoles.

So now they have an expensive game (for them and us), with boring and bad game mechanics, for the one system that really hasn't been doing well for most publishers/developers.

I heard there's a review embargo for it. Expect some good grades in the next 10 days, after that the 'non-bought' reviews will come into daylight.

I have played the beta and it was awful, if there is a demo I might give it another chance.

Im in the Beta and I can say it sucks but it can be fun for about a week or two. After that, its going to be abandoned.

Things to note:

1. You cant shoot NPCs inside cars.

2. You cant shoot car windows. All cars have bulletproof windows.

3. Very unrealistic car damage.

4. Shooting takes no skill. Theres a lot of auto aim. Not aim assist. Auto aim.

5. Missions are very very simple. (Drive here, take this, deliver here, mission complete)

This game looked like a failure from the very beginning. I always feel bad for developers who make games that don't turn out good. You know they have good intentions, but they just don't quite get it.

It is a massive shame if it is a flop. The logic and theory behind it is amazing, and the concept itself is fantastic. This is stuff, like EVE Online, that should be evolving multiplayer online games. Problem is, if it just doesn't work it isn't destined to make change.

So they should of done the boring same old and just made a GTA clone? ... that doesnt push the industry, even if they failed with this, fact of the matter is a successful GTA styles MMO would be amazing and someone has to do it eventually. why waste time being second class in the single player department? dont we have enough crappy shooters and sandbox games as it is... And consoles... ugh, yea because other than the Wii, thats where the creativity is :roll:
