Those numbers are actually NPD and Media Create numbers. Vgchartz just happened to have them in a neat little package.

A world wide release of the most hyped PS3 game could potentially sell 1 million copies in it's first day since the whole world will have access to it. It has already been stated that MGS4 is launching with it's own special PS3 just like Halo 3 did with 360.

And as for this porting business, how is Konami going to get Kojima to port it when it's Kojima Productions creating the game and not Konami? Kojima could just outright refuse and they couldn't do anything about it because he's one of the biggest game creators out there.

These stats remind me of how phenominal theHalo series' salesare. :o

I think it has a rather good chance. and 1UP yours agrees with me (listen to tehir latest podcast) BEcasue its going to be a simultaneous release in America, Japan and Europe and its the game most PS3 owners probaly got the yestem for in the first place. and Besides, if it dosent sell 1 million day 1, its not like its going to stop being a PS3 exclsuvie. He even said in the interview the only way your going to be able to play this game is on PS3.

I love MGS and support the PS3 (although I don't have one yet)...and I think the idea of MGS4 selling a million in one day is totally stupid and unrealistic. Seriously...why can't it sell 1 million in TWO days or something?

If you ask me, Konami is paving the way to find a reason to port this game to the 360. There is no way it will sell a million in ONE DAY. That is doing what no MGS game has ever done...and on a console with a small fraction of the PS2 which other MGS games were on. When the game doesn't reach this impossible goal, Konami will announce they are starting a port.

Mark my words people. This is called a pre-emptive excuse.

To be fair she does own a PS3. Not that will exempt her from being a fanboy but her debating tactics were basically backed by data, evidence, reviews, facts ect. She really just didn't go out on a limb to push her opinion out on others like most other fanboys do.

I mean she does provide at least valid factual points as to why MGS4 won't sell 1 million on day one. Its not like she just said it won't sell cause she said so. Was she wrong? Yes. But she at least put forth facts and evidence to support her speculation rather then just blind fanboy prediction.
