LOL, easy to make a comparison when you find the worst shots you can. Fact is, it is not much better than this:

I'd say that's a fair statement.Put it this way, it is not too far above that of a PS2 game.
ironcreed
None of those PS2 games listed or Wolfenstein looks as goos this...
Fact. Notice the texture detail on gloves/suit, all-seeing-eye, watch, etc. Nothing in any of those pictures posted has that detail... nothing!
Yes, it does. The Ps2 screen you posted has no lighting. The textures are very low res. The hands of the player in The Conduit has prob more poly count that the entire scene you posted. That being said, the tech in the conduit is underutilized by a bland art style :( .Put it this way, it is not too far above that of a PS2 game.

Nice argument you have there. Cherry picking good shots against bad ones works every time, pal. Scratch what I said about early PS2 game. The graphics are still about on par with a PS2 game period. By today's shooter standards, that still does not stack up even remotely. Hope you enjoy it though, that is all that matters, lol.

I agree 100%. This game is obviously more detailed than the screens some are posting. Hmm, I don't understand what some are trying to say. It's clear as day, and hey, I'm not even defending The Conduit, really, just speaking the truth. Those screens don't hold up to The Conduit. The Conduit is no "omg, best thing ever" game, but it clearly looks better than those PS2/Xbox titles being posted. The environments are bland as hell, though.
Halo 2 bullshots looks really good.Sweetness indeed :P[QUOTE="SecretPolice"]

This new Wii FPS seems like a whole bunch of Meh.
We shall see.

And what makes it appealing? For me, it's the premise; the story. It's all about government conspiracy. One of your main tools to solve puzzles is the "All-Seeing-Eye" (illuminati, freemasonry).
The game could end up crap. It very well may turn out that way. But I still dig the premise.

I was really just making a general comparison is all. Yes, it does look better than an early PS2 game, but not by large margin. It is still well within PS2/Xbox quality range, and by today's standards, it is like going back in time. That is all I was trying to illustrate. Not hating, it is just the truth.

Let's be honest. This logic applies to every single wii game out and or will every be released. What is the difference here? This isn't in defence of the Conduitr but rather in awe as to why you are even making this comparison to begin with.

You could say that about the Wii, period. We all already know it's technical limitations, so why even bother preaching to the choir? We all know it.

Do you really think that fans of shooters in general will not compare this to other shooters? I guess the Wii is special though, lol. I was just trying to illustrate the gap between where the standards are today compared to what this shooter offers in today's market. Let's not fool ourselves, it is a wide gap. Yes, you could apply this to just about any Wii game, but that is irrelevant in the light of trying to appeal to non-Wii owners such as myself who are continually looking for a reason to buy one. Point being, when I can play shooters like Killzone 2, Modern Warfare, ect, why on earth would I want to go out and buy a Wii in order to play this?
You could say that about the Wii, period. We all already know it's technical limitations, so why even bother preaching to the choir? We all know it.

Yes, we all know about the Wii's limitations, and I am not trying to remind everyone, lol. My point is that for non-Wii owners who are looking for a reason to go and purchase a Wii, a game like the Conduit sure is not winning me over when there are shooters like Killzone 2 on the market that I can play. I am not alone either. Just illustrating the lack of appeal for some of us who genuinely want to like the Wii, but sadly cannot find a reason to when looking at what is on offer in comparison with what the PS3 and the 360 have. Hey, if this game is your thing though, by all means....do enjoy.

That would be quite subjective, my friend. I hope you enjoy the game though, for what it is worth, lol. The waggle is not defined as "better" for all of us.;)

No, graphics are not the only thing that is important to me either. Physics, A.I., ect also come into play of course. Again, my point was being a 360/PS3 owner who is also looking for a reason to purchase a Wii, games like the Conduit which is below the standards of the kinds of games I play on the 360/PS3 is not any sort of incentive for me to run out and buy one. To each their own though, aye?

Super Mario Galaxy, No More Heroes, MadWorld, House of the Dead: Overkill, etc? The Wii has many reasons to pick one up. I don't know why one would need The Conduit to make them interested. It's a nice addition to an already good enough library, though.

I was speaking in terms of shooters of course. Also, not saying any of those games you listed are bad at all, they just do not appeal to me at all in comparison to all of the games on PS3 and the 360 that appeal to me....which is quite a few. In short, there are so many games for the 360/PS3 that in my opinion outshine anything the Wii has on offer, there is no reason for me to buy one at all. All a matter of personal preference of course, but I am far from being alone in this regard, I know.
still looks terrible, moreso than anything i would like to deal with. i guess its great to anyone who just has a wii or will play anything, but anyone who has the ability to play games like halo 3 or cod or kz2 shouldnt want to touch this garbage. its a disgrace to quality fps games, but its as good as the wii is gonna get fps wise, which isnt saying much.mtradr43So true... I went to take a look recently at Conduit pics because I heard some talk about it. Wasn't impressed at all... still glad I sold my Wii.

Yeah, there's a few that feel that way, but not enough to put the 360 or PS3 in the #1 spot. I guess you're not a fan of platformers. SMG is one incredible masterpiece.

Nah, there is more than a few. Also, I care more about games than I do sales figures, and the Wii's library just does not appeal to me. I also love platformers, Ratchet and Clank being my favorite. I grew sick of Mario games long ago, that's all. Again, to each their own, my friend.

That's cool. R&C is a meh platformer compared to SMG, but hey, I'm not judging, because I like many games that aren't quite the kings of their genre. R&C is a poor excuse of a platformer, though, especially ToD.

Gameplay trailers do not look quite as crisp as those TOUCHED UP screen grabs either, lol. The Wii is not any more powerful than an Xbox, and you know this. And what makes it appealing? For me, it's the premise; the story. It's all about government conspiracy. One of your main tools to solve puzzles is the "All-Seeing-Eye" (illuminati, freemasonry).
