I want to see which console SW thinks this gen (PS3, 360, Wii) will have the most game droughts. Last gen it was the GC but Wii does seem to be improving a lot of GC's mistakes so it's a tough choice to choose which console will have the most game droughts. Technically all 3 are having one right now since there are no standout games that have just come out for any system.
Anyway, finish this sentence... (throw your opinions in there too after you finish the sentence if you like):

im saying wii. 3rd party devs arent getting the wii right now and may not for a while. this puts all the burden on nintendo. as good as they are, they cant support a system by themselves.

Smash Bros. with the Wiimote would be stupid. I'm glad they arn't ramming it down out throats like with most Wii games.
i dont think any will have any serious game drought. the wii has sparked alot of interest with devs so i think wel be seeing plenty of games for that and the 360 and ps3 both have a good number of exclusives and a good chunk of shared games.

It's common sense. It's a big selling app, Nintendo will release it around Xmas. There is no set date right now. Xmas is the only logical date.
I'd say the Wii, just going by past experience. I haven't seen any good indications that Nintendo has fully rectified its third party issues that were glaringly present with the N64 and Gamecube.Â

Wii because it seems like all the 3rd party support is too lazy to actually make a good game. I mean look at some of the games coming out for the Wii, they look like they are first gen PS2 games and the controls seem tacked on.

PS3 has one as we speak, but 360 gets Mass Effect and Bioshock soon, and then Lost Odyssey and maybe Fable 2 and Halo 3, Ninja Gaiden 2 coming a bit later, 360 is definatly not having a game drought until 2009 arrives, but i do not think PS3 will not have games in 2008, FF13 and MGS4 are more than enough for me

This just shows how difficult it is to make games and if devs want the games to be any good, they have to spend extra time working around the cell and all the specifications of the PS3. Even if devs finally learn how to use all of the PS3 capabilities, it'll still take a couple of years before they start producing games at a fast rate.

I was going to say exactly that but wouldn't PS2 games simmer the drought or do they need to be PS3 specific games? imo, if I wanted to play PS2 games, I would play them on my PS2. Why would I pay an extra $600 to play games I can easily play on a console I already own?

Same. I don't care about the motion sensing being teh future, I still like games the way they are played now, so I'm happy Nintendo isn't counting those gamers out and are releasing games that use the VC or Gamecube controller, or at least have that functionality.

I don't see any big droughts for any console really, maybe a small one occasionally for the Wii though. I don't really care. There were plenty of games to buy for the Gamecube when there were droughts because I didn't buy every big game straight off the bat.

And 360 has Armored Core 4 in March and Bioshock in April. There's at least one good game coming out each month for the 360 up to June.

I was actually going to say the Wii at first but took a while to put things through circulation. Zhengi hit the nail on the notice board when they said how it could be troublesome for devs to develop games for it. I also think the 360 might suffer from this in future but seemed to have sustained a very well spread line-up. The Wii, being the least powerful, does have alot of open opportunities. But thats not to say it can't have a drought. It's really a big assumption by that variable alone.
The Wii and PS3 are the only consoles likely for a drought,as the 360 is going strong.I think it may be too early to predict which will have a drought.I mean,3 months after the launch of both consoles,and each have something to prove.We just have to wait and see what happens.

Personally, Wii for 07, PS3 for most of rest of gen. So far it looks as though 3rd party devs are being very lackluster. Next year i bet that there will be a lot more devs willing to put some real effort into some great games and the drought will end. I cant think of anything except mgs 4, dmc4, and... i guess ffXII that i want for ps3. 360 will keep its steady flow of AA and AAA titles is my guess.

Nintendo have always had a problem with droughts though so it's not that surprising that most are saying Wii. Hell, even the DS is having a drought right now. I just finished Yoshi's Island DS and I don't want anything till Pokemon Diamond.
