The Console War begins properly in 2008, PS3 > Wii > 360

Thats right, 2008 will be the year the battle will properly take place. PS3 and Wii are relatively new consoles and they need this year for developers to understand them and learn to use them well. The reason 360 is getting more exclusives and better multiplatform titles is because the 360 has been out for well over a year, the developers know the 360's architecture pretty damn well, and its only fair for you to give PS3 the same oppertunity. Heck I'm not implying that we forget about the sales altogether but we don't rush to conclusion this early. 2008 will be the year the PS3 goes to the next level, I guarantee there will be a difference between PS3 and 360 graphics in PS3's favour.

Do you guys really expect that PS3 will sell 10's of millions and gain 100's of exclusives in its first year out :|

I'm betting that the sales difference between PS3 and 360 will be minimal by year end and 2008 is when PS3 PWNS 360.

So I guess dev's are just going to stop trying to make 360 games look better.... That is the problem with cows, they act like devs are going to keep pouring time and effort into the PS3, but forget all about the 360 and it's 10 million plus user base. I wish I knew what they were smoking, because it must be GOOD!! 

I think PS3 will hit 10 mil by the year end

and start to fly in 2008

I think it is going to be the exact opposite. Now that all are on the market, people will see the 360 with it's superior library, cheaper price, and Halo 3, and it is going to fly off the shelves this holidy season. I won't be surprised if MS is over 25 million by this time next year. If 360 gets FF13 as well, then I believe you will start to see it sell well in Japan ass well, and then all bets are off.

 Heck I'm not implying that we forget about the sales altogether but we don't rush to conclusion this early.

AGREED 100% my friend, as you can see in my sig, I do own both consoles and while I do enjoy my 360 a lot, I must say that PS3 is looking better and better and will win this console race

Don't wait, I'm not talking about PS3 dominating, I'm just saying that the 1st year is all about PS3 getting ready, you know like a preliminary battle. If I was a 360 fan I would ofcourse boast about GeOW and how 360 has many exclusives etc but I would also aknowledge the fact that PS3 has only been out for 6 months (one month in Europe) and I should wait till next year to see if 360 truly has an edge over it or not.

You 360 fans are basically like talking crap about PS3 because you know this is the only oppertunity you will get because next year is the downfall of the 360.

Put it this way. 360 is an an experienced martial arts master while PS3 is a guy who wants to become a kung fu master but stumbles along the way yet has enormous potential. Now 360 is always roaming to get the ultimate battle and obviously he is very proud on his abilities. one day 360 stumbles along to PS3, 360 aknowledgs that his a newbie and since he is an ultimate king fu master, he cannot declare victory over PS3 because he is yet to realise his full potential.

enjoy your games and sales figures etc etc but don't forget that your console is fighting against newbies so since 360 has a years worth of experience it would be fare to compare PS3 to 360 once PS3 gains a year worth of experience, because we all know that at the moment 360 has the edge in games, I'm not denying that.

That was probably the worst analogy I have ever heard.... Seriously.

There is no such thing as a 'fair' comparison because this is just how things just happen. If PS3 keeps on flopping then what will you say then? No... the system wars begin 2009! or... It's because 360 got a head start. 

If system wars and market competition were to be really fair then MS, Nintendo and Sony would've decided to release their consoles at the same time. The world doesn't work that way. It's dog eat dog.

I'm not making speculations who will win but all fanboys should simply accept this is the way things have unfolded plain and simple

Exactly. It's just like the argument that the 360 has lost because the PS3 outsold it if you compare both launches. Sure, the PS3 won the launch, but if the 360 has a sizable lead (and is outselling the PS3 right now), that means nothing. In 50 years it won't matter which system sold better at launch; all that will matter is which system sold more total. And if the 360 keeps up its lead, you can scream for "fair" comparisons all you want, but the 3rd party devs will still be jumping ship...
