I always find it amazing that xbox 360 fans use ninja gaiden as an exclusive even though it is coming to the ps3. How would you know that the next game won't go to ps3 aswell?drsports1980

well by that logic since xbox got substance, the 360 is also getting MGS4Â

How is thtat the same logic at all. This is the first next gen ninja gaiden game at the moment. I would expect ninja gaiden sigma on ps3 and xbox 360, but it came out only on the ps3. That is what I found alarming, that the ps3 is getting a game that is superior in every way to its counterpart. Also mgs3 was an exclusivem while mgs2 came to xbox.
Well i decided to look at how the consoles stand in comparison with each other, genre by genre
Action Adventure: Three-way tie. The PS3 has God of War. The 360 has Ninja Gaiden. The Wii has Zelda. Now this is argueable because the PS3 has ninja gaiden sigma (but not NG2) so the xbox loses a bit in that respect. I will admit that this genre needs a few more good games on the xbox 360. Also the PS3 has Metal Gear Solid which is stealth so it sort of fits in this genre, but it could also go in shooters. 360 also has Bioshock which could go in action adventure or shooter. Might i also point out that games like Assasins Creed and Grand Theft Auto 4 will not be on wii. Oh and Crackdowns fun too...
Role Playing Games: 360 wins. Now I dont want to pull out that big list of 360 rpgs which is always floating around the board to prove this. The highlights of the list are Fable, Mass Effect, Too Human, Oblivion (and dont say ps3 has it too because when a game comes out a year later for an other platform its pretty much lost all its hype, just look at halo 2 vista), and also Blue Dragon and lost oddesy for the JRPG fans. PS3 has FF13...I dont thing the wii has anything notable...
Real Time Stratagy: 360 wins. Command and Conquer 3 is the best rts to ever be on consoles. Also I realize that PC is better for this genre but some of us dont have the time, effort, and money to put into buying a good pc, aquiering parts at good prices, upgrading, and modding/changing settings to achieve the best results for your system. I prefer consoles becuase the system is standardized and you just go out and buy it, and any game for that system will run at its best. PS3 and Wii dont have any good rts.
Driving/Racing: 360 wins. With Forza and Project Gotham Racing for the 360 has this genre covered. PS3 has Grand Turismo, but thats not out and cant beat pgr or forza anyway.
Sports: 360. This genre is primarily multiplat but the xbox gets the best version of all these multiplats. Just look at the reviews.
Shooter: 360. I dont even need to say anything for this genre. The 360 destroys the compitition in every way. The main reason is that the 360 controller is the best controller for shooters and most other genres. To name a few games, Halo 3, Gears of War, Call of Duty 4, Tom Clancy Shooters, Shadowrun...
Platform: Its a tie between PS3 and Nintendo Wii here. The PS3 has ratchet. The wii has mario. Both are great games. Who knows though, maybe 360 will get a new psychonauts someday.
Fighting: Another tie between PS3 and Wii. PS3 has Tekken and some other stuff (im no fan of this genre sorry). Wii has Super Smash Bros. The 360 dpad really isnt meant for fighters. However, ssb uses an anaog stick, so maybe one day there will be a good fighter on 360 which uses that.
So as you can see the 360 wins rpg, shooter, driving, sports, and rts. The ps3 and wii tie on platform and fighting. However, in recent years fighting and platform games havnt been as popular as they once were. There is a three way tie for Action Adventure. The Xbox 360 clearly wins the console war in terms of games.
If anyone disagrees or sees any "flaws" in my arguement, please state your concerns. I will try to defend or alter my point of view.ringuzi

Isn't everything the TC said actualy only his preference. I mean I prefer my 360 to the other consoles but at the end of the day it is all personal preference. I mean my uncle has always loved the Gran Turismo series and now Xbox as come along and brought it Forza and PGR, they might be better but hes comfortable and content with Gran Turismo and won't get any of the Xbox racing games nor will he even consider getting an 360. Hes not living in the past he just doesn't care to change because he prefers Gran Turismo.
Also it doesn't matter how much of a variety of RPGs you have on the 360, if someone is obsessed with Final Fantasy then they won't care to much that there missing out on the 360s selection of RPGs. Also I didn't take to kindly to your slightly ignorant comment about PCs in the RTS section. But other than that good topic with no stupid childish excuses.

I agree with you here. It's a matter of preference. For example I hate playing shooters with gamepad.I'd rather play with wiimote or with mouse/keyboard (also I think PC shooters are superior to Xbox 360's) and since we are comparing consoles, wii wins for me in shooter category with Red Steel 2, COD 3/4 and MP 3.Also one can prefer playing racing games with wiimote rather than gamepad as I said it's a matter of preferance.(It's same for sport games too)
It's a torture to play RTS on consoles so i dont count it anyway.
Also I find your statement about PC gaming wrong too.I mean it's not THAT difficult to form a good gaming PC with modarate research(even if you dont know anything about PC's) instead of buying a Xbox360/ps3 + Hdtv.
Edit:The person I refer as "you" in third paragraph is NOT the one I quoted, it's topic writer.Dont get me wrong there.

anshuk20002.. no, the 360 wins by faaaaaaaaar!!!
To requem and platearmor, i agree that it is partly about preference, however, if someone who has never played any of those games before were picking a console, they would pick the console with the greatest quantity of quality titles, variety would also influence their decision. Also requem im not sure how you can tolerate red steel or codwii if you find rts on consoles (which work fine, try cnc3) torture.
As for pcs. Its not just building the pc which i find annoying, trying to optimise games to run well on your system is also difficult espeacially for someone with no knoledge of how. Thats one of the reasons i prefer the standardized system of consoles. Also i prefer controller to m/kb, so i guess you guys are right about the preference thing.ringuzi
Now you have some good points there.Of course someone who never played those games would pick up the one with greatest quantity of quality titles but lets not forget that we are hardcore gamers. We know about games, how they work, how they controlled and how they look.We research so we have the freedom to choose. If we generalize the gamers you are right xbox360 has an advantage here but if we are speaking of hardcore gamers like us, it's almost complately matter of preferance.
Yes It's right that if you want to play a game on PC, you'll likely to encounters some problems here and there. But about optimisation, you do not have to tweak your hardware for various settngs. If you dont know much, just dl latest drivers for your pc parts and latest patches of your games and thats it.Of course standardized systems are really good (in fact sometimes my PC really piss me of with errors) but PC has it's pluses too like having cheaper games, tons and tons and tons of* free user created content for almost every game. Also xbox 360 has it's share of hardware failures as far as I know so it's not as safe as past to use consoles. So you see it's again a matter of preferance they have no distinct superiority over other.
*Did you know Oblivion has over 10000 user created content like houses, weapons, armors, tweaking, campaings floatin in the internet?
edit:Yea I liked the Red steel and COD 3.At least it's different. But for gamepad-FPS combination, thats not for me.
