Nice! lets hope it isn't as bad as the first game.kieranb2000
Bad? First game?
I thought it was one of the better FPS games released this gen. The multiplayer was a letdown (it was literally unplayable due to lag) but I really enjoyed the single player. I normally don't play FPS for single player (I believe they should be multiplayer only titles, just like fighting games which is why I rarely touch arcade/story modes in fighting games) and unless it has critical acclaim (Half Life, Crysis, STALKER) I really won't play them.

Awesome. The first had its high points for sure. Fix the awful dialog cutscenes, iron out the story, tweak the combat and abilities, and this game will be golden.

Re-do the whole mofo thing basically :P
lol. I guess that's what it sounded like. The environments were nice in The Darkness, as was the shadow=strong/light=weak aspect. Of course, it would be cooler if you didn't have to shoot out every light individually, and if enemies would use light against you.
One thing I have to give The Darkness credit for is control options. They had x and y axis speed and acceleration settings. More games need this.
and engulfed in stylistic violence that is visualized through a hand-painted graphic noir technique that stays true to its comic book origins.
They're trying to make it look like a bloody cartoon or cellshaded game *sigh*
Just take a closer look at this screenshot

[QUOTE="McStrongfast"]Judging a game to be ultra-generic to the point of ridicule by a single screenshot is poor form Mr. Rachet, co called, Fan8.[QUOTE="Ratchet_Fan8"]dark,gritty,fps,unhappy tone soo original!jg4xchamp
When that one screenshot features a demon snake eating a dude's face and actually looks visually distinct from most other shooters, it also starts looking irrational.
When you start considering what the game's legacy infers it becomes flat out laughworthy.
Simple Response: You didn't play the original Darkness did you? Would have worked better =P But it's a dumb comment in so many ways and I wanted to highlight them all. :( On the flipside I like how he describes it as having an unhappy tone. Apparently unhappy tones are common in shooters. The Darkness is one of my favorite games this generation. The story is just so damn good, and the game has good FPS mechanics and pacing. Only bad part about it was some crappy AI with the creatures you could summon. Other than that, damn. Amazing game.
Kinda upset that a different developer is behind the wheel though, I'm still a bit unsure TBH. Dark Sector was a terrible game.
