How do you guy and gals think this will turn out? Sorry if old.

"Konami is demanding cash compensation, plus an order that would block Viacom and Harmonix from using the inventions, according to the complaint, filed yesterday in federal court in Marshall, Texas. The suit names Harmonix Music Systems, Viacom, and Viacom's MTV Networks Co., which owns Harmonix."

I was just planning to buy rockband 1 (It came out very late in EU, so I'm not expecting RB2 till '09)

But why isn't this law suit against Red Octane as well? I'm assuming they went around the patent some way.

Also, has anyone ever played Guitar Freaks. If I'm not mistaken it was the first guitar based rhythm game. And Drum mania as well. They could geta pretty penny from this.

Like I said in the other thread, good, hopefully this will take Rockband off of the market and stop the realease of Rock Band 2. Maybe im just jealous because im not rich enough to buy Rock Band, but I really dislike a game that costs so much, especially when so many other great games could be bought instead.ONLYDOD

Like I said in the other thread, good, hopefully this will take Rockband off of the market and stop the realease of Rock Band 2. Rockband is expensive. The main reason I didn't buy it. But GH4 is almost $100 cheaper. I'm definitely getting it.

But unlike a high performance car, Rock Band is only one great game, where as you could buy alot of equally great games for a fraction of the cost of Rock Band. You can't buy X amount of cheaper cars and expect them to be equally as good as a high performance one, if you get what I mean...

When I could buy 3 new games and a not so new one for £140 instead of one game yes I do find it hard.

For any who do not know Konami tryed the same thing with the DDR pads. Was in court for years and they failed. So this could delay games but in the end Konami could still lose.

Also DDR is so much better than rest of this crap..... :)

I hear yaz...i still remember the debates. however...and bare with me...i really did respect them for at least attempting the 1st person football:) as a gamer, i cant help but respect innovation...good or bad, but the act of trying to do something different 3. thanx, and 1000% agreed(your points being valid) 4. no bro, not at all :) 5. seriousley, not at all :P 6. i love the colts(respect everything about them for thier integrity and Christian attitude surrounding the team...but....GO COWBOYS :) sorry man, dont hit me. but you have to admit, they are looking good so far this off season ;) peace and Godspeed my friend
