[QUOTE="Sparticus247"]As far as I know an 8.0 and 8.5 are still pretty nice scores, if you see a score like this the game deserves to be played. So no, this hasn't triggered the death of the RPG, not at all.Marth6781
There nice scores when its your game that flops, leemings gave us sheep crap about TP, and metroid, so its time the tables turned. BTW, im not calling you a lemming.
lol, it's ok, I don't even ahve a 360 :P
Not a single mention of The Witcher? Wow, that game is really one of the biggest sleeper hits in a long time.
The Witcher is the best RPG this year. Yet probably no one in this thread has never played.
If you think RPGs are dead, go play The Witcher. It got the same score as ME for god's sake.DireToad
I'm absolutely loving the Witcher, and yes, it deserves much more credit and popularity than it's receiving. So far, it's by far the RPG of the year. While I'm sure I'll like Mass Effect as well, I doubt it will be as deep of a game as The Witcher. You gotta give all the credit in the world to CDProjekt, they really made something great. Their ties with Bioware show as well, as it had that feel to it. You can bet your savings that if it was on consoles, people wouldn't be shutting up about it, especially here at SW.
Don't let the score jade you so much. I'm dissapointed that seeing as how it got the score it got it won't be considered for game of the year, because I think the game does some things that have never been done before and really do put the genre in another stage, and advance the genre, but I can take my licks and admit I got owned. I legitimately thought this game could get a 10, I did.
But, let's remember. This game, will be amazing. It will be the best game I've played all year, maybe in the past few years, because I love this type of game. And, what I think is one of the best games of all time, and EVERYONE usually agrees when someone says this, Deus Ex only got an 8.2 here. Sadly, amazing presentation and incredible story and gameplay DO get overshadowed by nagging issues. And Mass Effect has them, and I can accept that.

That is exactly how I think.. I just know I'm going to love Mass Effect and I'm expecting to enjoy it more than any other game this year.
