What are you on about? Nobody said that they need to meet them at $300 when their digital system is more than two times stronger and has more storage space. The S is for plebs that play fortnite and yearly cod. PS5 digital is for normal human beings.

I wouldn't say it is deluded, and I hate going by generational demographics, but the age group that buys consoles is generally willing to shell out more for things that are quality.

Price and money is always a concern, but I think people are more willing to favor quality for more cost than simply basic quantity or a cheap price; they might even view something inexpensive (relative to a similar product priced higher) as suspiciously cheap, too good to be true.

If Sony is taking invites to pre-order they must have very limited stock and selling at loss or even trying to come close to Series S would be disastrous.
