For those like me who cant wait for this game, heres the info that came in the latest Game Informer:

18 skills in total, 3 less than Oblivion.

Five 'massive' cities.

Your character is the last known remaining Dragonborn, a dragon hunter.

Your mentor, Esbern, is a Nord member of the Blades, possibly the last one left, he is voiced by Max Von Sydow, who did the narration for the teaser.

Some new creatures include mountain giants, frost giants, mammoths and sabretoothed tigers.

You can do more stuff in cities, for example, craft weapons, chop wood and even cook.

Dragons will exist as hostile enemies, and there will be plenty of fights with them, not just the boss battles.

Bethesda has hired many more voice actors to keep the NPC dialogue fresh.

When engaging in dialogue, it no longer zooms in on the person you're speaking to, they can walk around and do things while talking to you, occasionally glancing at you.

The NPC's are much more dynamic, for example, if you drop a weapon inside a city, a young boy may pick it up, run after you, and ask if you dropped it.
Another example of the same event is two men find the weapon and then fight over who gets to keep it.

The Oblivion kind of enemy leveling & loot leveling is out, the one in Skyrim is more like the one in Fallout 3, which in turn is more like in Morrowind.

Fast Travel is still in.

Bow & Arrow is now more powerful, but slower to use.

It seems they have cut out picking a clas in the beginning, citing their reasons as "it's stupid to force to player to predict the way they will play a game they've never played before".

There is no level cap, however after level 50, it takes a lot longer to gain experience.

Every time you level, you recieve a boost in health, and you can select whether to boost your Magicka or Fatigue.
You also select a Perk like in Fallout3.

Improved 3rd person view.

You can dual wield with almost any type of combination like a dagger in your left hand, a sword in the other, a dagger in each hand, a mace in one hand, fireball in the other.

Combat has been made more tactical and engaging, Bethesda has put a lot of time into making the weapons feel real in your hands.

They've tried to kill off 'cheap' combat tactics such as backpedaling, when walking backwards you're not fast enough to keep your distance from your opponent and at the same time attack him.

The new Radiant Story feature will tailor the sidequests found in the world to your kind of play.
For example, if you've gone around killing a lot of vampires, a woman may approach you in a town, asking you to clear out a cave of Vampires.
The game will then look at your playing history, see which caves you have entired, then select a cave you haven't visited for the quest.

Enchantment is a new skill.

There are kids in the game, not known if they are killable.

There are 10 races, most likely the same 10 that were in Oblivion, however the only two confirmed ones so far are Dark Elf and Nord.

You can choose to remove the HUD while you play. (Health, Magicka, Fatigue meter, equipped weapon & selected magic, compass (not confirmed to be in) etc.

There is civil war in Skyrim, it is just starting as the game begins.

The new engine enables much more fluid running water, dynamic shadows and more vibrant trees, with each individual branch and leaf being more 'alive'.

The faces in the new game look much, much better.

Your character, the dragon hunter / Dragonborn, was blessed by the Gods, as were the other Dragonborns, to be able to fight on equal terms with dragons.
As such, you have special spells.

The Godlike dragon Alduin is known as the World-Eater, and it is feared that he is coming to end the world in Skyrim.

Each race is according to Bethesda going to look a lot more distinct.

Shields can now be used as a weapon, pushing your opponent back.

Weapons have finishing moves, which are most likely unlocked as your progress in the weapons skill, think Fable 3, so progressing your blade skill will unlock finishing moves for long swords, etc.

The finishing moves are all unique to the creature you are fighting as well as the weapon you are using.

There are 85 spells in total.

The Draw Distance has been improved with the new engine.

Snow can be seen falling dynamically, not just as a basic texture on the ground.

The game takes place 200 years after Oblivion.

Beards & facial hair is in.

Character customization as a whole has been improved and you can now edit body features

Known returning creatures are zombies, skeletons, wolves, horses, elk.

Some more new ones are trolls and giant spiders.

You can now sprint at the cost of your fatigue.

Dungeons are said to be a lot more unique in Skyrim, should be less repetetive.

Landscapes are also said to be more unique, it's not just going to be snow, as previously thought.

There will be rivers, forests and such.

It sounds like it could shape up to be a great game. I loved Oblivion, even with its annoying quirks.

A lot of this sounds awesome, but I remember on skyrim boards on gfaqs someoen got together quotes of Oblivion features, so many that sounded awesome and were horrible in actual game. The stuff about dynamic quests I assume will be far less interesting than they make it out to be, they said NPCs in Oblivion would have dynamic schedules and interact to discuss different topics, well they do.. they dynamically walk around between the same 2 spots, and if they bump into another NPC, they talk about mudcraps, sometimes 2 NPCs with same voice talked too.. an example of something that sounded good on paper, but was very poorly executed. I am hyped, but I will keep my hype not too high. I don't mind them having less content in some ways, as long as its more meaningful, each dungeon or cave felt meaningful in Morrowind, not so in Oblivion, there was way more, but it was very copy paste.

Seems like they actually listened to what everyone complained about in Oblivion. Awesome.

I really like the things about combat, character creation (though I hope beards and facial hair are actual beards and facial hair, and not weird rash looking things the were in Oblivion) and leveling.

I just want these things.

1) More places to explore. Not just in size but density.
2) More stuff to loot/steal/use.
3) Better combat, Oblivions combat wasnt very clever.

They seem pretty focused on making real combat now, all the ES games have pretty awful combat.

Better combat and more fluid animations are what I am most eagerly awaiting from this game! It's sounding daaamn good so far.

Oh and I hope the world isn't as bland as Oblivion was, do something truly epic with the landscape!

Sounds like they're taking the best parts of Morrowind, the best parts of Oblivion, and combining them together with some shiny new technology. Color me intrigued.

The news I've heard has been very mixed. I will withhold judgment, but I'm not hyping this game, not after the disappointment that was Oblivion.

There is some awesome sounding stuff in there. The new dialog system sounds cool, the level cap is gone, the leveling is more like fallout and morrowind, the engine is better...

I think they are on the right track.

"18 skills in total, 3 less than Oblivion." So did they just remove three completely or combine them with other skills. Like I heard they're getting rid of Mysticism, does that mean that the spells that absorb, reflect, and dispel magic, move objects, sense life, and bind souls are gone completely, or have they been put under a new category? If removed completely I wonder what they're reason is.

Im going to guess they will just combine skills, they did have too many magic skills, but then again I would be gutted if they merged light armour and heavy armour. Or merged blade and blunt, that would be terrible.

My guess the reasoning is consoles holding back :P

Sounds lovely.

My biggest problem about Oblivion was that literally 90% of quests took place in caves/mines/dark ruins which all looked the same and felt the same, I want more quests in cities, forests etc.

Well, Oblivion With Guns was a pretty common phrase everywhere, so Skyrim can be Fallout 3 Without Guns.

The mysticism spells are spread through the other schools of magic.

18 skills, but you choose a perk at every level. There is a soft cap of 50 levels, then you level up much slower. There are dozens of perks. It should provide a lot of variety.

I thought maybe if they plan to do a pretty major combat system change, maybe they found that those didn't work as well with the flow of combat or something.

Improved third person is something that is greatly needed. Morrowind and Oblivion both had terrible third person. If it was more like Fable then that would be great. And I am just excited for the huge open world. I don't really care about the story. I spent 99% of my time exploring in Oblivion.

I've loved every Elder Scrolls game so far and this one will be no different. I just love the freedom and the expanse. I hope Skyrim is gigantic.

Wasn't Daggerfall half in Skyrim? Half Skyrim half Hammerfell? I can't remember.

It still has Bethesda's writers and animators. Biggest flaws of all.

I hope they'll give us some morealternative ways of travel since fast-travel is coming back. . . or at least give the player the option to turn fast-travel on/off. Fast travel in Oblivion wasn't really optional when you think about it. There were no other alternatives, besides horses. >.>

And no HUD? Well, I wonder how they'll implement that. Open cities are a plus too. *claps*

With all that said, I can't wait to pick up my own copy of GI so I can read through all this.
