The Elder Scrolls vs. Final Fantasy

As much as I love and grew up with Final Fantasy the nod has to go to The Elder Scrolls. Morrowind is the greatest game ever made.

Final Fantasy , only because i have played more of that series then TES , which is Oblivion and Skyrim.

Elder Scrolls for sure.

WRPG >>> JRPG, in my opinion.

Both are So enjoyable, but for me it's a no-brainer to go with Final Fantasy on this one.

Morrowind!

Both are great series', but I'd give the nod to TES due to the amount of openness they give you and the random events that can happen to your character(Werewolf, Vampire).

You don't have to use an anime sig/avatar to be a jrpg weaboo.

Final Fantasy, by far. Games like V and XII are two of my all-time favourites.

Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, ESO vs. FF6? Not really a contest, Elder Scrolls gets my vote.

20th century = Final Fantasy (and Japanese games in general)

21st century = Elder Scrolls (and Western games in general)

I'd rather play FFVIII (one of the games I bashed the most) then a Bethesda game

Overall, FF. Skyrim was only really fun with a ton of mods.

Elder Scrolls by far. The world and lore alone is better than any FF game. Add in the fact that JRPGs suck by default and its really not a fair comparison

FF, if I have to choose. I've never been a fan of FF but I also haven't played the SNES ones and I hear those are the best.

Elder Scrolls, hands down. I've sunk so many hours into those games. And mod support has always been insane.

I like Final Fantasy, but I feel like, aside from FFX, I enjoy the spinoffs more than the actual main entries. I played the crap out of Tactics, and Crystal Chronicles. Yet I can't get myself to sit down and enjoy any other installment.

Well, you don't just sit and wait for the enemy to hit you.

The combat in ES games is complete shit. I've never liked it and I never will.

@-God-: weaboo can only handle "combat" when they don't have to make instinctual decisions.

Morrowind alone is better than any of the Final Fantasy games.

FFX turned me off to the series....it just got to Japanese for me.

@lostrib: I'm guessing -God- is going with a stereotype he may have come across. Not like that is unheard of here at SW. I read often the xbox gamer only likes FPS games yet all I own in that category is MCC. Big deal. Bottom line for me is turn based, spiky haired, emo crap is FF

FFX > FFVII > Oblivion > Skyrim > Morrowind > FF8 > FF9 > FF12 > FFX-2

Not played any of the other FFs/TES games.

For me, I will always choose the good western RPG. Final Fantasy has been a great series though, up until recently. As far as MMOs go, XIV was a good effort too. In fact the only series I outright disliked was XIII. It's just that western RPGs are my favourite games. I even forgave all the flaws in Daggerfall. There were so many of them but I was so immersed in the game that I ploughed on.

Are we talking realistic now? We really approaching that? haha.

@Chutebox: sorry if I prefer combat to rely on my instincts and reflexes rather than having massive time to make a decision which is so much further from reality. They are both fake but really? That shit is crap imo. You feel opposite. But no one who has been in a real fight has ever used turn based over reflex. It's garbage
