Not the end, just means that Nvidia is going to pay a hefty sum and license Rambus prodcuts.

NVidia not only lives with PC GPUs, they got good fight with PowerVR on mobile segment make quite popular motherboard chipsets.

Its hardly going to be the end for Nvidia, just a set back.

It would seem their not alone either, many companies seem to have done the same thing according to that article and will have to pay up.

5970: 73.9fps GTX295: 48.8fps. the 5970 destroyed the gtx295.

yay my card gets 10.1fps i so happy.

I'm afraid Nvidia is wayyyyyyyyy behind. AMD already got their DX11 line up and running and Nvidia's expecting to hit due February. Also notice in nowadays PC games, the "Nvidia the way it's meant to be" has been replaced with the AMD logo. Nvidia's about to be 3DFX 2.

From what nvidia have shown of Fermi/GF100 it is upto 60% faster then the 5870 in the unigine DX11 benchmark at tesselation which ATI have championed since the Radeon 8500 Nvidia beating ATI at there own game. At the moment ATI are in a better position having a full range of DX11 cards for every budget in the Market but unlike nvidia, ATI weren't forward thinking Instead they have slapped DX11 functions onto exiting hardware. While nvidia have created a completely new set of hardware.

Lol I bought the 4890 the other week... My card was $199 and it comes in barley behind the GTX 285 which is like $400
