That's pretty amazing on two counts.

Firstly it's amazing that (according to your logic) a CGI trailer disguised as in game forced the creation of a title whose in game looks as good as Killzone's CGI.

And secondly because the Killzone 2 trailer managed to force the way with Crysis despite the fact Crysis has been in development since before the Killzone 2 trailer was released last year.....unless....OMG THE MYSTERIOUS POWER OF SONY'S 4D TIME MANIPULATION AT WORK.

Brought to you by Sony...why do people poke fun at the minds at Sony? I would imagine that them owning EVERYONE nearly uncontested for the past 12 years would shut people up....guess not...

http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/ps3/4d-glasses-for-the-playstation-3-160798.php

Things like that will get you own3d!!

Remember...4-D gaming IS coming...imagine what games like Afirka, Little Big Planet, and Killzone 2 will offer. We KNOW PS3 will come out the victor in innovation but the real question is this...will the 360 ever be able to really reach the 4-D playing field Sony is taking us too? or will the just re-re-relaease Xbox L337 1.75?

THougts...lets look at the posistives for both..like the online for Xbox and the Online for PS3...

PS3 is free

Xbox is not...

what esle?

The PS3 is a poor mans PC. It has sub-par games, an unproven disk player format, costs too much, has a crappy web browser and is bought by people such as yourself.

PC's are always outdated and never really improving until consoles force the way open....ie...Doom3

What console game forced the way open for Crysis?

Half-Life 2?

Oh, wait.......

 seriously though HL2 still looks amazing even today :) (On PCs' of course)

It's going to perform loads better on the PS3...just look at Oblivion...

How could it? It will be using the same game engine. :?

Time....IS....NOT

the new dimension of gaming....it never has been....and it never will be.....time....it will be the feeling of Home working and 130 million ps3 users interacting...your mind is the 4th dimension.

NextGenNow

You know Home has a 64 player limitation in the chatrooms, doncha'?

Home is gonna be like grand theft auto but with people and no cops...so I can easily see them limiting it to 64 but that isnt counting the NPCs....and with the cell you could at least have a solid draw distance and soem serious amounts of enemies...

Also, 130 MILLION PS3 users? WTF? Where did you get that figure, the 4th dimension?

What is 4-D gaming....nobody knows....know why? Because it's an idiotic claim. I would say any game that changes over time (huxley will do this and so does every mmorpg) is 4-D. Thats just my theory and my understanding of the concept, but you can reduce it to even less. So until we define that term of 4-D....this argument will fail 100 percent of the time.

the 4-D could be something like this:

games have 3-D enviroments and gameplay. But this gen, all consoles could have Time implemented to it. In a manner that your character goes old, plants and animals die, etc. I don't know, at least it's some plausible way of making a 4-D game possible. With time as the 4th dimension. But don't believe that Ebay thing, that's just a joke.

All games will be based off the console's internal clock and will have to be programmed to fit that time of day no matter what.

I can't believe someone actually took this seriously...

Puckhog04

You'd be surprised just how gullible fanboys can be.

Sony loves to hype their products, whether the hype is true or not. Fanboys all seem to believe a lot of that crap.

The problem with this line of thought is two main issues. Firstly, in terms of gameplay mechanics, time travel has basically been advanced as far as it can go within reason in past games, so if we want to argue it's this minimalistic experience, then logically we've been experiencing it for years. But true 4D gaming is more problematic. Think of it like this. In the old days of 2D gaming, there actually small elements of 3D recognition. Sometimes, despite length and height being the main dimensions, you were able to walk up and down (ie, walking through a door by pressing up). Inserting small elements of 3D did not serve to qualify these games as 3D, and it only became that way with games like Mario 64, where you were able to move in all 3 dimensions at all times. For a game to be truely 4D, and if we assume 4D is referring to time, using the same standard that took us from 2D to 3D, we'd need to be able to move in all 4 dimensions, at all times. I don't think I need to elaborate on how trippy that would be.

You... actually BOUGHT into that 4D crap? :| :|

"4D" is a complete fabrication as far as gaming goes, it doesn't mean ANYTHING, but you think you're capable of giving definition to something that doesn't have any.

If Sony was pitching "Hyper Dimensional Geometry" in their games, Or that the Cel was "A Quantum Engine that draws it's power from sub-space", you'd probably believe that too... sad, so sad

Correction: It outsold the Wii at retail. It's getting it's ass handed to it by the Wii in terms of sales to actual customers.
