There was never a default female Shepard (only the players custom characters) until now.

Just an update: on the facebook poll #5 is destroying the competition. She's got alomst 14,000 votes, about 6000 more than the next (#3). On a side note, #6 has just over 1500 votes, making her a distant, distant last place.
