The first Beserker: Khazan Demo available now... GOTY incoming.

The Demo was a little over 2 hours and I have to say I was really impressed. Beautiful visuals, top tier voice acting and a Souls like with deep and varied combat.

This could be a hit! It looks like Souh Korea will be a major player in AAA gaming.

Saw the 15-minute gameplay 4 Months ago and I was impressed with the gameplay, so this has me intrigued for sure. Already put this on my Steam wishlist. I could play the demo but decide to go in blind as demos tend to ruin the surprise and wanna go in with an open mind when it's released.

@davillain: Your demo progress ports over so if you're interested in buying it, I would try it. Honestly I was shocked at how good it was.

I must say, the extremely generic trailer at the Game Awards didn't sell me on this one.

That trailer made it look like an average Souls clone with an anime style.

The anime style looks awful, but I could get over it if the game was good. Still though, the chance of me playing this over a Souls game is miniscule.

Also, can we stop calling whatever Souls clone comes next as GOTY? It's getting a bit old.

Can we stop calling everything Souls Clones? The combat differentiates itself enough from Souls games to be more then a clone. Yes it has penalties on death and a stamina bar but do we call all fighting games Street Fighter clones?

Then you must just hate the anime style because as far as anime graphics go these are top tier.

The souls formula has become stale. This game doesn't shy from the formula.

Hard to get excited for yet another soulsy game ... but might give the demo a whirl.

No jump button is a huge turnoff...don't get me wrong, it isn't always so bad like in an ARPG for example (or other genres), but a game like this where traversal and hack n slash combat takes the forefront? Yeah... no.

Chill out young'un. Every second game getting released feels like another boring hack n slash game. Roll in attack, roll away, rinse and repeat gameplay may get your engine running, but not so much others, it's kinda like if you've played one you've played them all. Now don't get me wrong because I still play them every now & then, but the market has become flooded with them.

As for playing other games that hold your hand, nah you're the Sony fan here, you love those Sony movie games.

Well this is different in that it relies on a parry system and perfect dodging. This character seems to be significantly more powerful then anything you could build in a typical Souls game .

Sony hasn't released shit other then live service trash and Astrobot. I do wish they would go back to high quality first party titles with production values again. However MS wanted to copy them so bad they spent 80 billion dollars to buy studios that could actually make good games.

The Last of Us, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man and Bloodborne weren't hand holdy crap 🤣. They were just great games with high production values.

@elderlord99: Played Last of Us, and it's a 5 or 6 out 10 game, has some of the worst gameplay, and the walking talking segments, and there is only one way to progress I the game, very hand holdy indeed.

Have BB and have yet to start it, but it's not a Sony game, it was made by Fromsoft, so I already know whst to expect. And again have God of War and yet to start it, but I've seen videos of its hand holding segments.

Sony's hames are where gameplay is an after thought, graphic, cutscenes then everything else.

@last_lap: If you think TLOU has shit gameplay then you honestly just have shitty taste in games. Their is no game to date that blends melle combat , third person shooting and stealth so seamlessly.

God of War has outstanding and challenging combat so that in itself would probably be to much for you.

TLOU2 is full of " woke" shit which is why I bought the game two weeks after it released so I could get a used copy. But that doesnt change the fact that the gameplay was outstanding.

Lies of P is a Souls clone, and I'd rather play that. Think I'd even play Lords of the Fallen over this game. Both of which had their "omg GOTY!!" threads. Wukong, same shit.

At least I've only played the Souls games and not the gazillion other Souls clones, so I'm not that fed up with it. I'm game for it to improve.

Happy for people that are looking forward to this, but as a filthy casual PC gamer that has a 10,000-dollar rig to play 15-dollar indies, I don't think this frightening, exxxtreeeeme hardcore souls-style game is for me.

It was a great game with a shit story because Druckman is a talentless hack carried by a talented team. I don’t think 19 is considered under age though.

Wukong isn't even a Souls clone in my opinion. It doesn't even have a penalty for death. Not to mention it was nominated for GotY so it's not like it was overhyped.

Because it undermines any unique features they have.

Has no stupid drawn out story with hours of cutscemes and has a custom character editor, all that and it's cheaper too.

Remnant 2 isn't even the same genre 🤣 and it doesn't do either better then TLOU... it also has no stealth mechanics.

That's because their games are among the best of the best. Look at their GOTY wins, Nominations and sells...not to mention Playstation has access to the best games available..and what they dont get ill play on my XSX and Switch. Before they went full live service they were the best publisher in the industry...although I admit it is now a shitshow.

Both games are third person shooters, sure they differ in other ways, but Remnant 2's gunplay is leagues ahead of Last of Us, so is its gameplay, the only part that isn't better is its cutscenes thankfully because Remnants devs didn't make it their number 1 priority like ND did.

And Last of Us stealth mechanics are broken because you can be hiding behind a couch and Ellie is just standing there and the enemy walks right by, its a joke.

If you take the 2021's awards you will see that there is something fundamentally wrong with the awards show when the game with the highest and most reviews didn't even get nominated and a game that wasn't even rated in the top 10 games that year won, shows you that the awards show is just broken, not only that but Goeff hides how the judging works, it's all hush hush.

No it isn't. Remenant 2 is a fun online TPS but it I'm not sure how it's better. Half the enemies are bullet sponges.

The attention to detail in TLOU is insane. You shoot someone's knee out and the way they fall to the ground and start limping... or the damage on the characters and the blood pooling system. Nothing comes close other then RDR2.

I'm not sure what your talking about with bad AI. It was probably a glitch but both TLOU and TLOU2 allows incredibly dynamic scenarios that few games can match.

It was so dam good i was actually able to play through the entire game and get through Neil Cuckmans terrible writing. The animations and attention to detail are so dam good that if you were watching gameplay it feels like you are watching pre-rendered footage.

And pre-determined wasn't the right choose of words, but it was definitely cut up and mashed together to make it look like one one sequence of gameplay which it wasn't.

Tried the demo, combat is def more interesting then most souls clones. Boss fights are parry focused - so more Sekiro.

Also the visuals looked kinda ugly to me when watching footage, but looks pretty good when actually playing .

I will probably buy it on a sale

Is it 'who does Souls Clones better than the original'? then naturally From Software does it best, the clones are tracing From Softwares homework, cheaply cashing into a trend. & even the best of them do not hold a candle to a From Software ARPG.

Now if the question is 'who does ARPG games better than From Software'? that's going to be very debateable & subjective. As I feel From Software goes more on the 'good combat' section of the sub-genre (no offense to The Wither fans your combat system is trash) & From Softwares biggest issue is pretty much making the same game six times in a row with minimal changes. So with that in mind the big one is Monster Hunter. I think Monster Hunter is generally a better ARPG series than anything From Software has done. And while it may seem bias I've been a fan of From Software since the original Armored Core. Was a massive supporter of DeS when it came out, I generally like the games. Monster Hunter is still better. & I state this with extreme confidence. Has way more player experimentation, better level design, and far better multiplayer. Combat is debateable as they go for something completely different, both honestly top tier for ARPGs. Dragon's Dogma is also pretty great too.

@RSM-HQ: Yeah, was just thinking of very similar games. When it comes that type of combat and that type of exploring in that type of environment, FromSoft is unmatched. I think there is plenty improvement to be made, especially with the combat and recycled content. But then again, it's kinda nice to have the combat being simple. I really like Nioh too with its very much more advanced combat than the Souls games, and its combat system is why I like Nioh so much, but I still prefer the Souls games. There's Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen, Remnant, etc. None of them even close to as good.

If one thinks FromSoft is still overrated without being able to name better alternatives, they just don't like that type of game and can't see if its good or not, because they wouldn't like it either way. I'd love to hear why FromSoft's games are bad, or much worse than most people think (aka overrated), but I never get to hear anything more than "they're overrated" from these people. It's like me not realizing The Sims is good, despite me not liking it. I can fully recognize why people love The Sims, and that it's doing what it's doing really well, which makes it good. I still don't like it, but I don't call it overrated.

"ARPG" in this day and age is vast.. I too prefer Monster Hunter as far as those go.

I have my issues with various From Software games, and give reason. If the answer is "Elden Ring is crap and this Souls Clone did it better" I actually think they're stupid and need to play some actual good games instead of posting on the internet and taking the opinion of some Twitch Streaming mental-case.

As for Nioh I don't dislike them, I just don't care for them either. Frankly a far cry from a good Ninja Gaiden game and a Souls Clone wasn't what anyone wanted from the studio. Nioh also has about half the depth of a NG game, and following the Souls Clone trend again for me is very off-putting. A waste of a talented team. Then again they lost a lot of the senior staff after NG2 so it was always sad seeing the path the developer went down regardless. Goes to show they don't even have the chops to make a new Ninja Gaiden either as they've had to outsource to Platinum Games.

Something being overrated doesn't mean it is bad. I am surprised that is still misunderstood.

Enjoy a lot of games that are termed overrated with ease due to overwhelming popularity (Super Mario, Street Fighter, Halo, Resident Evil, etc) heck even Baldur's Gate III very much fits the typical labeling; and I was preaching that game when it dropped in Early-Access.

Though personally I find the term "overrated" to be used in these forums as a buzzword for idiots that have nothing to contribute outside a weak attempt at stirring the pot. Which I suppose is popular around here, but still leaves much to be desired.

I believe something can be overrate even if a better game cannot be identified and the skill level of the player does dictate whether a game is overrated or not. If a game is getting more praise than it deserves, it will be in overrated territory. Some games are overexposed and are incorrectly labeled as overrated.

Buzzwords are pretty common on this forum, like the word "woke". It can be argued that folks who use that term are idiots that have nothing to contribute outside a weak attempt at stirring the pot. So, I understand your perspective.

@Litchie: Nioh is still no slouch, probably because it was worked on by the bois who made Ninja Gaiden (outside the senior staff who left) Ninja Gaiden is just nuts with its depth and versatility.

I'm a massive Devil May Cry fan but if we looked at DMC and NG solely on combat? NG is the better series. It's why I'm still losing my shit that we're getting a Ninja Gaiden 4..

It's very cool. Co-developed by Platinum Games no less. I'm not the biggest PG fan, but they seem to know combat.

@Litchie: Pretty much my thoughts. I actually disliked Bayonetta 3 quite a lot, and with the creator of Platinum running back to Capcom for a job after overspending on the shitshow that was Bayonetta 3 (the game spent nine years in development) seemed like Platinum was on its last legs.

I hope they've still got the talent to pull it off, because most the games they developed have great combat. And a well received Ninja Gaiden would give them the reputation to continue as a company. Just don't add quicktime events in Ninja Gaiden.. don't do it Platinum!

@RSM-HQ: lol. Yeah, no QTEs please. Those red effect and quite lenghty kill sequences was already a little bit worrisome I thought. I don't like my games pausing frequently in fast paced combat for "being cool".. But I dunno, it might turn out feeling good, who knows.
