• Halo 2 was terrible and the only thing it had going for it was the multiplayer.
• The Dreamcast sucked.
• The Dual Shock 1, 2, and 3 controllers are awful, half assed designs.
• Mass Effect 1 is the best in the trilogy.
• Super Mario Sunshine is a great game.
• The Wii U Gamepad is an excellent controller.

I am basing that on my experience in mmorpgs, where people resorted to blindly following someone elses guide, rather than calculating themselves the optimal strategy for a certain fight, which usually resulted in them faring poorer than me quite a bit. Also, every gamer I have talked to when I mention maths goes "ugh".

Makes me sad to see such an incredible tool get such neglect.

You will find plenty of people who agree with that :) I think everyone in my university agrees that GW2 is a bad or disappointing game, and that GW1 was either good or great.

Pc gaming is no where near as good as it once was. Even though it has most high rated exclusives, most are lame indie games with low standards. Oh sorry, you didn't want facts.

Sure they require more thought than usual but so does doing ones taxes. Wheres tge appeal ?

Because when you are raiding with 30 other people, where the boss goes berzerk after a set time killing everyone, you want maximum optimization. A single player not carrying their weight can spell the difference between victory and defeat.

Regardless, i was not necessary referring to optimizing stats (which is piss easy), but rather, I am referring to optimizing cooldown usage (skill usage) and the likes.

Holy crap, I disagree soooo hard. As the TC, I respect your opinion, but Dragon Age: Origins is one of the finest games ever crafted in my eyes -- as soon as you started lauding Dragon Age 2... ohhh man.

DotA is better than League of Legends.

Halo games are a pile of mediocrity with awful level design.

Oni is the best bungie game (with awful level design, still).

League Of Legends' massive player numbers published by Riot are manufactured for the sake of promoting the game.

Bulletstorm is not a skillful old-school shooter it claims to be and is garbage overall.

MGS2 is the best game in the series.

Call Of Duty is one of the few series that actually delivers the goods for the asking price.

MMORPG's are shit and should've been on par with single-player RPGs presentation-wise and gameplay-wise by now.

Titanfall lived up to the hype and is the best multiplayer shooter available atm.

Resident Evil 6 is a fantastic game and one of the best games of 2012.

Final Fantasy X is no better than XIII's in any aspect.

Diablo 3 is great both as a game and as a sequel.

Persona 4 is better than Persona 3 story-wise.

Portable Killzone games are by far better than any of the main installments.

Team Fortress 2 got better with all new weapons and cosmetics.

Gothic series was never good.

That I had more fun with Tomb Raider Definitive Edition than I did with ANY Uncharted Game.

AC Unity is actually fun and everybody badmouthing it doesn't know what they're talking about.

Everybody who mentions micro-transactions are whiny bitches who jump on the opportunity to bring it up than realizing that the stuff they complain about people having the option to pay for can be acquired in-game by simply playing it, acquiring in game currency, and spending it on those items instead.

Granted there's plenty of opportunity to criticize it, but everybody who wastes their breath doing so clearly doesn't sound like they've even touched the game to even have acquired a valid criticism.

And yet they waste their breath making it sound like Ubisoft is a super-villain.

Pokemon has been complete shit for about 3 generations.

The Nintendo 64 has better audio than PSX.

For the most part, Sony doesn't have a very good first party and most of their games are fairly shallow (not necessarily a bad thing).

What's been shown for Star Citizen so far has left me unimpressed.

Gaming lore is utterly pointless for the most part and serves little to no purpose in terms of the story. Developers need to condense it, I don't want to read Tolkein levels of content for each game especially when most of it is generic as hell to begin with.

I couldn't care less what resolution my games run at as long as they're playable.

Wind Waker is easily the worst Nintendo made Zelda game in the franchise.

Skyward Sword is an amazing Zelda game.

The Advance Wars series is WAY better then the Fire Emblem series

Square Enix is still a great company and they release and publish great games.

• Navi is not annoying; and Fi is annoying but tolerable.
• I prefer JRPGs over WRPGs.
• A lot of gamers/hipsters (this extends outside of the gaming community) likes to hate popular games for no good reason.
• I enjoyed Shadow the Hedgehog.
• I'm neutral regarding Samus' characterization.
• There's nothing positive from being a fanboy or an obsessive hater.
• I believe video game stories can be enjoyable even if they do not compare to other mediums.
• A lot of gamers rely on nostalgia more than they would like to believe.

Can't be bothered to remember more.

• Navi isn't annoying, I have never understood the hate for her.
• Wind Waker is the worst 3D Zelda other than possibly Skyward Sword (which I haven't been able to play yet).
• The Arkham games are good, not great.
• Bethesda hasn't made a truly great or arguably even good game since Morrowind, which has aged terribly.
• No game in the Final Fantasy series is truly in the running for best JRPG aside from maybe VI or IX, even then only a spot on the list at best. Not even best JRPG made by Squaresoft.
• Mass Effect 2 is the least interesting game in the trilogy.
• Super Mario 64 is still the most fun 3D Mario.
• Final Fantasy VII is not the best Final Fantasy, it was just many people's first JRPG.
• Demon's Souls is my favorite Souls game so far.

• Half-Life is incredibly overrated, with Left 4 Dead being Valve's best franchise.
• Resident Evil 5 is superior to its predecessor (RE4) - especially when you take into account the Gold edition/DLC.
• ModNation Racers (PS3) > Mario Kart 8 (WiiU)
• The God of War series NEEDS to die. (Or, at the very least, remove Kratos and move onto a new mythology)
• The next GTA instalment should include a female lead.

THANK YOU. The praise thrown upon the last of us...is just baffling. The story is elementary. The gameplay is metal gear-lite meets uncharted's retarded sticky cover system.

The Last of Us...I just don't get it. Either people need to play more games or read more books and watch more movies. If they think this is a good story they have no clue.

I think I'm ready to admit that I think GTA:San Andreas is a bad game, maybe worst in the main series.

Which is odd because I think Vice City is one of the best games ever made. I replayed both games somewhat recently and this distinction was re-affirmed to me big time. VC has aged well. SA has not.

San Andreas has an extremely slow start, a superfluous RPG system, an admirable but ultimately broken gang system, and my god is that game ever bloated. The business ownership system that was perfected in Vice City was broken beyond repair by the bloat of SA, which made collecting all that income nearly impossible and ultimately pointless. GTA4 and 5 have similar bloat but abandoned the income system or made it automatic, and they have that brilliant taxi system to help get around the huge world. Getting around in SA meant memorizing the quickest routes to a local airport to steal a jet and crash it at your destination. The plot also went on and on aimlessly and I was basically going through the motions by the end of it since I burned out on the game well before then (and that was when I first played through it).

Imo the game was saved by that epic soundtrack and by capturing that early 90s feel. The radio skits are also probably among the best in the series. All this is not irrelevant, but I strongly believe that a game should be judged on the gameplay first (and hopefully that is not a controversial opinion).

I don't watch very many movies or read many books so I thought the story was neat. But yeah the amount of wooden pallets and ladders you needed in that game was ridiculous.

Joel may as well have carried a ladder in his pocket, it would have been just as silly

Nintendo just keeps pushing out their platformers that are all storyless. Kirby, Mario, Donkey Kong and so on. It's fucking 2015, time to step up. This isn't 1980s any longer.

They're always kept to a different standard, people are always like "oooh this isnt movieeees, plus its all about the gameplaaay". I'm so sick of everyone nuthugging all the Nintendo mascots. All they need to do to please fans is to make a new game with a character from any Mario, Donkey Kong or Kirby game and you're all throwing 10/10 all over the place.

2) I'm so sick of the "the harder a game is, the better it is"-attitude. Dark Souls? 10/10 it's challenging man. Battle Toads? GOAT cuz it's hard as shit. "Obscure Pixelated Indie platformer", 10/10, it's so difficult, yay!!!!

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare was the best multiplayer shooter of 2014.

• I find Kojima to be one of the most overrated hacks in the entire industry. His games are clunky and poorly thought out at best in terms of mechanics (though from playing MGS V is seems there will finally be an improvement), his writing ability is insultingly pre-pubescent grade school caliber garbage, and the only reason people are impressed by his efforts and his "games" garner such high acclaim is because he's got a hell of a team under his belt that understands the effectiveness of immaculate attention to detail and the power of presentation. Take those two away, and the guy doesn't have a toothpick to stand on....
• HL2, while decent, is often given far more credit than it deserves.
• a change in aesthetics can be just as important as a change in core gameplay, and oftentimes necessitates it.
• I believe deep down many people want to play Hatred, but are just too embarrassed/ashamed to admit it.
• 3D is not always the better alternative, and many past games that were designed in 2D due to technical limitations should remain as such.
