The Move bundle sells for $100 but it does not contain everything you need to play games with the Move.

First of all if you play a hardcore game such as a first person shooter, then you will need a Navigation controller which is NOT included in the Move bundle.

If you want to play a FPS, you need a Move controller and a Nav for ONE PLAYER gaming. If you want to play split screen then you need 2 Move controllers and 2 Nav controllers.

What if you want to play a fighting game or dancing game for example? Well then you need 2 Move controllers for EACH PLAYER!

Considering the Move bundle only brings ONE Move controller and does not include even the Nav controller, this means if you only purchase that bundle then you are restricted to mini games with simplified controls. That's right, you can't even play the pack in game 'Sports Champions' correctly, you have to play it with dumbed down controls.

A lot of people here bragging about how you can play hardcore games with the Move but then turn their heads the other way when the conversation about cost comes up. It seems as if no one here will admit the real price of using move with 2 players and playing ALL GAMES with OPTIMIZED CONTROLS.

Here is the real price.

Move Bundle = $100

2 Nav Controllers = $60 (1 player only 1 Nav = $30)

3 additional Move Controllers = $150 (1 player only 1 additional Move controller = $50)

______________________________________________

Total for 2 player unrestricted Move gaming = $310

Total for 1 player unrestricted Move gaming = $180

Kinect by comparison, you have everything you need for $150($100 for bundles). You can play with full controlls, the way games are meant to be played and for 2+ players. In addition we now know that you will be able to play HARDCORE games with Kinect. That's right, you will use the regular 360 controller along side Kinect. The possibilities are really endless and they do create an amazing and unique gameplay experience that honestly can only be described as the future of gaming.

Kinect is not the future. Hands-free gaming will never replace controllers, at least not for a very long time. Kinect isn't worth the money because there is a limit to what you can actually do without a controller. Move isn't worth the money because it's ridiculously expensive, as you just said.

I think the majority of people (even common consumers) know this. This is like someone figuring out that they have to buy a game in order to play a game on an XBOX 360 or PS3 (that do not include games). You start out cheap, not expensive.

Actually that's not entirely accurate. Kinect works the best with some games. For example dance games and exercise games.

A controller would really suck for a dance game or exercise game. Move would work better for a dance or exercise game but nowhere near as good as Kinect.

Dance games and exercise games are EXTREMELY popular. Just look at Wii fit and Dance Dance Revolution for a quick example.

Let me ask you this, are you aware of the FACT that Kinect works in tandem with the regular 360 controller? Tsudo Kunoda confirmed that there will be hardcore games that will use both the controller and kinect but they will not be available at launch.

I think most people will not know that. I'm a hardcore gamer and I read a ton of articles daily, been doing it for years and I didn't know this until recently.

I think most people will assume the Move bundle includes everything you need for at least single player gaming. The truth is, this is far from true. I think there may be a lot of people upset when they realize they are restricted with gimped controls unless they buy more expensive Move gear.

What does it matter if Move ends up being a bit more if you get EVERYTHING you possibly can for two players. First of all, both players dont NEED a nav controller to play all the games, and some of these people could be buying it for singlepalyer stuff. Also, you discounting the fact that Kinect has a higher chance of being useless to the core or the hardcore gamer then Move does.

Using that logic, I could say that PCs cost upwards of $5000+ simply because they're able to be upgraded that much. I could understand a thread comparing Move at $130(w/ nav. controller) to $150 Kinect, but this is just ridiculous.

While I would agree, I think it's fair to include it because most people will probably buy one if they intend to play a game that uses the left analog stick. I don't expect many people to use the left side of the Dualshock 3, even though it isn't a bad alternative.

Sony announces games 3 years before they are released, not Microsoft.

Kinect is still 2 months from even being out on the market. By Christmas 2011 there will be plenty of hardcore kinect games. Most likely will be announced at next year's E3.

That's like saying "you can't play FPS with a rumble pack".

Eventually you will see FPS that you play with the regular 360 controller but if you have kinect, then it will give you special control options.

Kinect does not hamper hardcore gaming in any way, it enhances it.

But now let me ask you this, what if you want to play a dance game or exercise game and you only have a 360 controller?

The problem is that some games require 2 move controllers for 1 player games. Even some of the mini games in 'Sports Champion' require 2 Move controllers for optimal controls. Then there are games such as the fighting game where one move controller is your left hand and the other is your right hand. How can you play a game like that with only one Move controller?

Im not getting this thinga t launch until I get software that ill want. Wether thats Move centric games or games with Move support liek Killzoen 3 remains to be seen. However, if I did get it, i would personaly only need the bundle and the nav controller, atleast at the beginning. I dont plan on having it as a multiplayer kinda thing unless the folks wanna chip in for another set of controller stuff. So, for me personaly if I did get it, it would cost me 130 dollars, which is cheaper then a Kinect.

Then use 2 move controllers, not 3. I'm pretty sure that all local multi-player games announced for Move only require 1 Move controller per person. Nearly all of them have players taking turns, so you'll only need enough controllers for one person in those instances.

But if you buy Kinect you can't play FPS at all with it

alexfla

That's like saying "you can't play FPS with a rumble pack".

Eventually you will see FPS that you play with the regular 360 controller but if you have kinect, then it will give you special control options.

Kinect does not hamper hardcore gaming in any way, it enhances it.

But now let me ask you this, what if you want to play a dance game or exercise game and you only have a 360 controller?

This analogy makes zero sense. You don't need a rumble pack to play an FPS. What you do need is a way to move around a 3D plane and Kinect does not allow that unless MS is planning to release Halo: On Rails

Kinect doesn't actually affect hardcore gaming in any way because they are on complete opposites ends of the spectrum. Why would I want to use a 360 controller along with Kinect? So I can take my hands off the controller and get owned because I don't have full control over my character because I'm only hold the controller with one hand? I'll pass on that.

And let me ask you this: Why would I buy a dance game or an exercise game when I could just go to a club (which probably leads to a better outcome) or just go to the gym and get an actual workout? You know who would want to play those kinds of games? Casual gamers

Using that logic, I could say that PCs cost upwards of $5000+ simply because they're able to be upgraded that much. I could understand a thread comparing Move at $130(w/ nav. controller) to $150 Kinect, but this is just ridiculous.

Then use 2 move controllers, not 3. I'm pretty sure that all local multi-player games announced for Move only require 1 Move controller per person. Nearly all of them have players taking turns, so you'll only need enough controllers for one person in those instances.

Why would you want to play a local multiplayer fighting game against the CPU? That is like friends coming over to play street fighter matches and someone saying, hey let's just take turns playing against the CPU.

If you want to play against each other then you need 4 move controllers. But you're right, if you limit your options to local multiplayer against the CPU then yes you can live with only 2 move controllers and 1 nav. This will bring your price up to $180.

What games are you talking about? The only game that I can think of that lets you play against the other person at the same time with 2 controllers per person is the gladiators game from Sports Champion. You have the option to use either 1 or 2 move controllers, so I don't see the problem. I don't see anyone getting 3-4 controllers just to be able to use them on 1 mini-game. Come back to me when there are more games that let you use multiple controllers and play against your friend at the same time.

The rumble pack analogy doesn't make sense to you because you don't remember when Nintendo released the rumble pack for the N64 during a time where FPS didn't exist on consoles.

You can play FPS without the rumble pack but the rumble pack certainly enhances the user experience. Today it's pretty much considered a must.

Well, kinect will enhance gameplay. And i'm not suggesting that you will have to take one hand off of your controller for anything. It will be done in an intelligent way to enhance the gameplay experience.

Finally, you can't go to the gym and have a party workout like you can with an exercise game such as wii fit. The genius of it is that it's fun so it doesn't feel so much like exercise. Have you played it?

Also dance games are great for party gaming. It's no replacement for going to the club but what if you just want to practice your moves at home? They may be casual games but that doesn't mean they aren't fun as heck.

[QUOTE="nintendo-4life"]This is kinda funny actually. Didn't developer say some kinect games will include a normal controller as well? So for the full experience for that game = $210.. AMIRITE or AMIRITE?ImaPirate0202

I thought the whole purpose of Kinect was to game without a controller...

Yeah... I'm still confused about that as well.

Well for most people they may only need to buy the $100 bundle to enjoy the game they want to enjoy. Sony isn't going to offer some kind of 4 controller/2 nav/ camera bundle because most people might not want that many.

No one is claiming the Move is only going to be $100. The start up kit for the move is $100.

Finally I thought Lems would be proud of Sony's strategy in this, because they have defended Microsoft's decisions to only sell optional accessories on the side such as Hard Drive, Rechargeable controller packs, and Wifi, the things the PS3 includes
