[QUOTE="mystervj"]Kinect's on-rail games fails to demonstrate meaningful gameplay beyond the capability of 1 Move controller.HelloMoto56
:P
once again, who would purchase Kinect?
you look like an idiot using it, and it feels awkward and lazy.
Who cares what I look like if I'm having fun. Do gamers think they are too cool to be a kid again? Honestly....
Right, because you can't use the Dualshock in place of the nav controller right? Oh wait, you can!
This is almost as lame as claiming the 360 will have the better version of Dragon Age 2 (because it had the better version of the first right?) and that Shemue 3 will come out one day (it won't).
[QUOTE="BPoole96"]
[QUOTE="alexfla"]
That's like saying "you can't play FPS with a rumble pack".
Eventually you will see FPS that you play with the regular 360 controller but if you have kinect, then it will give you special control options.
Kinect does not hamper hardcore gaming in any way, it enhances it.
But now let me ask you this, what if you want to play a dance game or exercise game and you only have a 360 controller?alexfla
This analogy makes zero sense. You don't need a rumble pack to play an FPS. What you do need is a way to move around a 3D plane and Kinect does not allow that unless MS is planning to release Halo: On Rails
Kinect actually affect hardcore gaming in any way because they are on complete opposites ends of the spectrum. Why would I want to use a 360 controller along with Kinect? So I can take my hands off the controller and get owned because I don't have full control over my character because I'm only hold the controller with one hand? I'll pass on that.
And let me ask you this: Why would I buy a dance game or an exercise game when I could just go to a club (which probably leads to a better outcome) or just go to the gym and get an actual workout? You know who would want to play those kinds of games? Casual gamers
I'm well aware of Nintendo releasing a rumble pack. It enhanced the experience at first, but 15 years later, I can't say I'm too immersed by it or even realize it for that matter. And what does this have to do with Kinect anyway?
If you're not taking your hand off the controller than what exactly can you do with a controller/Kinect combo? Head tracking?
*Looks to the right, character on screen looks to the right* Now I am no longer facing my TV screen. Makes gaming kind of hard if I can't see my screen.
If I can already get a similar gym simulation with Wii Fit, I'm not going to buy Kinect when I could just get a Wii for $50 more dollars. Dance Central is the only game that looks like it could be fun. I wouldn't find it fun, but it seems to work fine with Kinect. Until I see a game that utilizes Kinect well in a core genre, it will be nothing more than a joke to me.
Haha oh dear. For me to get the full move experience I want, I only have to pay £63!!! That is the move controller, eye, and a navigation controller on play.com. If I wanted Kinect I would have to pay £130! That is twice as much, and it will probabaly never play the games I want to play, that is shooters. I am getting move for the likes of MAG, killzone 3, and Socom 4. £63 compared to £130.
[QUOTE="alexfla"]
Actually it's not 1:1, it lags just as bad or WORSE than Wii plus. Have you even been reading move reviews?
HelloMoto56
what reviews? the ones that are giving it 8's and 9's?
sorry, i didn't notice.
and what do you think Kinect's launch score is going to be on those same websites, in comparison?
5's?
4's?
:lol:
A move game got a 8 or 9 score? :?
[QUOTE="PSNLakers416"]
Ok if thats what you think.
alexfla
Not exactly. Move tends to stress communal gaming. It focuses on core gamers more than the casual crowd. When I was younger I would bring an NES/SNES controller over to a friends house. I'll agree that the Move+Navigation PLUS Eyetoy is a little pricey though. It would be nice if, instead of Sports Champions, the bundle came with a voucher, where you could decide on which move enabled game you'd like to have.

And the move feels like a wiimote with a giant glowing pink ball on the end. You look like an idiot using either one. Atleast with Move people can realise your playing a game, if someone walks into your room to see you driving invisible cars and acting like a Mime they are gonna ask, and then you gotta explain "Im playing Kinect it's a handfree controller for games on the xbox".i'm safe, i don't want to have anything to do wih either set of motion controls.
maybe at some point i will but not the way they are in the current forms.

Kudos to the first company to release the Wife-Beating game:
"Daddy, what are you doing?" **Deep exhale** "I'm beating my wife, son."
And I can come up with how X360 really costs you $800. What you need to play Move: 1) PS Eye - $33 (listed on amazon) 2) PS3 Move Controller - $50 (listed on amazon) That allows you to play move games. If you want to play hardcore games, add another $30 for the navigation controller. So in the end at most you pay about $115 to play a hardcore game. Where you get $180..........talk about being Kinect fanboy.darthogre
but you dont get the full thing, you need a game aswell

It's not what anyone thinks. It's a fact. If you want to play multiplayer games with the MOVE you DO have to purchase additional controllers. With KINECT, you can play with 4 people without having to purchase any additional hardware.

rofl that is hilarious. So you want to add the cost of a game into the equation? So let me get this straight, you want to say you MUST have the navigation controller to take advantage of hardcore games but you want to add the cost of the game into an equation to explain how much it costs to get into move? What kind of sense does that make.....oh unless of course you want to make some absurd comment that it costs $200 to play Move lol. I mean we may as well as say if you want to play Halo it costs over $500 since you need X360 slim ($199), harddrive ($129), wireless headset communicator ($50), extra controller so you can co-op with friend ($40), Xbox Live ($60), Halo Game ($60), ect....... See I can make the cost to play Halo some moronic equation, or I can be truthful and tell you it costs you $60. Basically this is your point: Not only do you have to pay for a controller, camera, and navigation controller but you have to buy Killzone 3 too!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh noes, games aren't free just because you buy a controller :( Face it, Move is only about $80 by itself but if you want the extra navigation controller for shooters than it'll cost you $30 more. That's it, plain and simple....no need to add anything else. With KINECT, you can play with 4 people without having to purchase any additional hardware. Really, everyone was saying Kinect could only support 2 at once. Then some MS exec says, oh no it can do more if they program it right. lets see, I'll believe you can play Kinect with 4 people when they show it can. Until then Kinect is the most overrated piece of junk I've ever seen. Even those cheap games they demoed had only two players at once. And IMO it probably has more to do with the fact that MS downgraded the hardware for Kinect than it is that devs haven't been able to progam it right. I looked at this comparison someone did with PS Eye and Kinect and it's really funny how the PS Eye actually outperforms Kinect hardware wise.[QUOTE="Half-Way"][QUOTE="darthogre"]And I can come up with how X360 really costs you $800. the point is that those "cost" predictions never are right, because people will add costs if they are against the product, and decrease if they are for it.
and example of that would be you taking amazon price, instead of the actual cost in stores.

Casual games were not in the context of discussion. Fable 3 can be controlled with Kinect? That's news to me, do you have a video of it's implementation?[QUOTE="ferret-gamer"] And the move feels like a wiimote with a giant glowing pink ball on the end. except one actually feels like you're playing the game, and the other makes you feel remedial.
and who cares about the aesthetic design? the "pink glowing ball" at the end is the reason that 1:1 is so accurate :|.
So waggle controls make "you feel like you're playing the game?" Well, Wii players have been playing games for years.actually Ruse right now is able to use the move with one wand. I already have an eye and all I need is the wand and I'll probably find a used one wait for a 3rd party one and get it for like $30 and my eye cost me $20. I'm not interested in dance stuff but I might be interested in fighting games but I don't know yet. I do want KZ3 and I'll need the nav controller but like i mentioned I'll wait and get a used or 3rd party one and that should be around $15 to $20 so I'm expecting this thing to cost me less than $100. Of course I also expect my kinect to cost less than $100 because I'll be buying it with the 250gb bundle,(system itself is $200 new, HDD is $130 new, head set is $20 new, kinect is $150 new) saving about $100 by buying the bundle.
well you missed the point entirely

I missed the point? All you said is you have to buy the game too which infers you must add the cost of software into the mix to get an accessory. Ok, if you don't want to buy from Amazon, go to a store and the three things that you guys have listed cost $120. It's still not even CLOSE to $180 that the poster originally said it would cost for a single player to get into Move. The facts are people are trying to make Move look bad because Kinect is so overpriced......again, fanboys trying to twist things to make a point. All I'm saying is stop with the propaganda, the move controller costs $50 (at any store), navigation costs $30 (at any store), and the camera costs $40 (at any store). Yes you can get them cheaper online so it's even cheaper than that. Those are the facts.

Any idea how insanely awkward its going to be to hold a ps3 controller and a move controller? Seriously who in gods name is actually going to be able to play a game for a few hours at a time like that?....You need it
Yeah. Im a sucker for new tech. I cant resist Move even though there are no real games at the moment. I just pre-ordered $260 worth of Move controllers to cover two people playing Sports Champion properly. Yeah, i think they are mis-representing the amount of controllers you will actually need to play the game properly. But people will soon figure that out.
Funny thing; Kinect only costs $149.00 WITH a game ( Kinect Adventures ) and i have virtually no interest. Something about Kinect just feels wrong.

The numbers are the numbers. You cannot dismiss them as "fanboyism." Move, ultimately is more costly than Kinect. The numbers used are MSRP and isn't that what XBL Gold is always measured by? If you have a game that needs 2 wands, you have to spend at least $100 and up to $150 for a single player. Even if you only get the setup for one player, and you have an PS Eye, it is still less a value than Kinect, which is $150 for at least 2 players (more is still up for debate).MS/Xbox is mistaken to think people want to play games without controllers. Just flailing your body around without controllers to hold and buttons to press and thumb sticks to move makes you feel at a loss. People like holding controllers and feeling like they're doing something. Controllers are part of a gaming experience. They've taken that away with Kinect and it's not right.

How do you know any game requires two Move controllers? What game specs and requirements have you seen saying that. What makes you think any nav controllers are required when Sony has already verified that the left side of a DS3 can be used in its place? Just adding stuff because you think it'll fly? Uh uh.
