The gap may be widening... 360 / PS3.

Yes Kinect is VERY new and interesting

You can't paint an accurate statistic based on these numbers, but at the Gamestop i went to there were 14 preorders for just the console, so i imagine Halo will have a very positive effect on selling systems. If its at 600k for September i would not be surprsied.

as for WW sales im a firm believer that the slim effect has also occurred in EU (not just UK) so MS is also outselling the PS3 in EU as well as NA. To me the PS3 is no longer outselling the 360 WW. You can believe otherwise if you'd like.

Haven't all Halo fans bought a 360 console when halo 3 launched? I seea largerconsole sales boost for ps3 when GT5 launches that Reach has given 360.

No. new people are going be wanting to check it out that didn't 3 years ago, i didn't get into halo till the thrid one. I seen 3 Xbox's go out the door within 10mins of Reach being for sale at the midnight release.

360 6th year is about to start.

my guess is around 490k-500k for 360 in september.

YOu do realize that those things that are supposedly in MS's favour, have ALWAYS been in their favour, right? Halo sales and price drops? Yet Sony has gone from being almost double the price, to even, and IS closing the gap. Granted, maybe this year will be different. But I don't see what would be any different this year compared to last, or any other year where MS released a Halo game (or Gears) and had a price drop.

How stupid are people now-a-days. Its ok I'm here now so let me inform you with some information you seem to be lacking. First off yes everyone who wanted a 360 for Halo has already gotten one by now. But all 8 million of their 360 red ringed and they had no reason to buy another 360 till now. So by doing that Microsoft gets another 8 mil Xboxs sold overnight. Then in 6 months when the next Halo game comes out and all the new 360s red ring people will go out and get another 360. Smart business move on MS part. Now you know why the 3rd iteration of a system seller will sell systems.
