The GBA is doomed! PS3 set to outsell it!

The Game Boy Advance came out in early 2001, at a time when the Nintendo 64 was still Nintendo's home console. The Gamecube didn't debut until holiday 2001.

 So yes, the PS3 is being outsold by 6 year old hand held technology.

These are monthly sales, not total sales. The GBA is pwning the PS3.

you couldn't be more wrong.  If GBA was $500/$600 or if PS3 was under $100 the sales ratios between them would obviously remain the same. :P

At $50 GBA is a solid purchase with many AAA games.

All you did was stretch the Gameboy Advance screenshot beyond it's original proportions.

I picked up Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the GBA for a few £'s, and it looks just as clean as the PSP version, except on a Gameboy Advance screen.

Gameboy Advance is better than PSP because it has better games. The PSP sucks for games.

Of course the price matters, but you still don't have much of a point. If it was that big a deal 360 would be getting outsold by GBA as well, but it's not.

It's funny cause a 5 year + old system, one that could have its software played on another handheld, and one that hasn't released a "killer-ap" in years, is outselling the almighty, be-all-to-end-all $600 mega-powered PS3 with its blu-ray and cell-processor....

I've got a slightly different angle for you guys to chew on.

Forget about price.  It's software that sells systems.

Now, DS is selling really well in these same time periods.  And it offers GBA playback.  So people don't really need the GBA SP to play GBA games.  It's all about the original Gameboy and GBC back-compatability.

So we just need to wait for PS3's software library to get better than the GB/GBC library, and PS3 will pull away from the SP.

The library will get better, but that won't be till later this year.  Doesn't matter though cause the GBA will go down this month!
