Personally, i think we are in the golden age now.TAKE_IT_BACK

I don't think the golden age has happened yet but I think this is the best generation yet.

I have been playing games off and on since the Atari 2600.

I'm talking bout handhelds. If this ain't the golden age, then something next gen has to be really good.

Is there any doubt it will get better for every type of platform? I think there will be some slim times ahead because the market is getting saturated now and the economy is getting weaker and weaker. But after a bad run or two it will be back with exponentially better tech and and 30+ years of trial and failure and learning how to tell interactive story's.

We are still in the dark ages of gaming. I think we are in the silent movie era of gaming.

SSCyborg

It was almost as disgraceful to the Zelda name as Twilight Princess.

you activated my trap card

What PH and NDS bring to the table has confirmed my fears. Nintendo franchise downgrades imminent. It's saddening you can't see it.

ok fine whatever (Minish cap was pretty damn easy as well. Not to mention that it brought nothing new to the table. Atleast PH had the controls going for it).

But lets move on to mario kart DS, Castlevania Dawn of souls, TWETY, Final fantasy 4 DS, Kirby's canvas curse, Pokemon diamond/pearl, advanced wars DS etc.

Yeah...the ds sure is a crappy handheld

5 sequels, two of which were rehashes. Well done!

At least they were innovative. Adding touch screen to Pokemon, poorly I might add, isn't innovative.

SSCyborg, what about New Super Mario Bros?

Surely you can't hate that.

...can you?

I have to agree Handhelds are at their golden age now (DS is prolly the most amazing HH ever,PsP shows what a competitor can do in the HH market)

Cant really say about consoles since we just hit the half way mark for this gen, so far though its prolly my 2nd fav gen.

I think handhelds are a lot better now. Seriously, DS is the only handheld I don't consider to be a watered down console, and that I actually play other games besides Pokemon for.

The golden age is here now. We are just older and spoiled.:P Nin has the right idea, get rid of the old school spoiled gamers, and usher in a new era of gamers, that dont ***** and complain about every little pixel. I would kill for the games we have now when I was a kid.:|.

It's nothing specific to handhelds. The golden age of gaming is long over.
