I have never experienced an mmo so deep as this game, the graphics are jaw dropping, and the combat is downright addicting
And just a little funfact, the director off this game created final fantasy ix :P
So.. who is getting this??

[QUOTE="lostrib"]yes No point in playing it then. MMO's *need* to be F2P these days if they are to succeed in any reasonable fashion. And microtransactions are always a more lucrative business model for games like these.is there a subscription fee?

Isn't this the game that had to be taken offline and completely reworked because no one wanted to play it? meetroid8In all fairness it's completely different from FFXIV 1.0. New engine and UI make it feel like a whole new game. Gotta give props to Square Enix for actively listening to fans.

You'll never find a more incomplete experience than a F2P MMORPG.

I would so try it out if it wasn't sub based.
I know you might get what you pay for but I don't wanna be paying a sub fee for a game. Ever

There's always the Guild Wars buy 2 play model. And it basically has just cosmetic microtransactions. It's been pretty successful and well reviewed

Define "incomplete".
Also there are other alternatives to sub fees than completely F2P.

GW2 is one of the most complete MMOs I've ever played.Good thing it's not F2P then.
I have a lot of issues with GW2 though. The content they offer is continually dragged down by the fact that the game is shallow.

You eventually it a paywall that you need to continue to poor money into it if you want to advance. Problem with this paywall is that it's a constant thing that ends up costing more than a sub. Content feels half finished and there is no real point. Terra is like that, so is D&D online as well as many others.
Also as a dev has to somehow continue make their game more enticing for new players to play, the later game and meta game doesn't get developed as much. Instead time is taken to make cosmetics and other chash shop things.
I would take a subscription with timely content, polished content, and worthwhile content over hoping that the next patch brings mroe gameplay and not just more cosmetics any day. Also with F2P there is always the whole pay to win aspect they have to constantly fight. You always need to somehow make paying to play the game worthwhile. That is always walking a very fine line between screwing F2P players. I don't mind having to pay a little bit to continue to play a F2P game after X hours, but I do hate when you get to a point you have to spend mroe than it would have cost to just buy the game outright or pay a sub each month.
I've spent $250 on Planetside 2, that is more than I would have spent if I paid a sub for it. I know it was optional, but im 10 days of gameplay in and I still don't have everything I want unlocked. The game's content is locked behind hours of grinding and they continue to push back critical updates in favor of the endless supply of cosmetics.
Won't lie, I played the Beta and thought it was actually really really good.
I hate P2P games though uggghhh, wish it was 1 time retail buy.
Also damn that place in op looks awesome, I started in Uldah(?) it was ok but looks like I shoulda started there.

I still don't think sub fees are a very good plan either though. People don't like the idea of paying monthly for games anymore when a lot of others have come out that are pretty decent and are sub free.
I've seen lots of people say they'd like to play this if it didn't have a sub fee and I'm the same.
I want this game and probably will get it on PS4 but as of right now cant afford paying $15 every month.

Coming from someone who has played pretty much every major MMO ever released... this is 100% true.[QUOTE="lawlessx"][QUOTE="lostrib"]yes No point in playing it then. It's $12.99 a month
[QUOTE="lostrib"]Yes, and that's one of the reasons it's not greastest MMO ever made. How does subscription fees knock it down? Are most of u guys really that poor? If the game is any good I don't have a problem paying a sub. It's not like you could afford the time to paying more than one at a time.is there a subscription fee?
